Montreal - Packet 3 for cases received on November 2, 2021?

Ended up reaching out to them and received an auto response that "they are busy and will process it soon."  It will be three weeks tomorrow so just a bit upsetting but what can I do.

I'd originally intended to meet my fiancée and we were going to stay for a few days and see the city, but when the omicron situation got so bad in Montreal (and in general), we changed it so she went alone and just stayed for around 3 days (to fly in, rest from the long trip, have the interview, then leave the next morning). Montreal is in lockdown and it was also brutally cold when she was there, so she just stayed in the hotel the entire time except to attend the interview.

 

The interview itself was smooth and easy and the entire experience lasted maybe an hour or two. They took her paperwork and just asked a few basic questions, like how we met and about our wedding plans. It wasn't a big deal at all and she was told she was approved at the interview. She received her passport with the visa in it only three days later.

 

The bigger headache is just getting there if you're not local, and the whole rest of the visa process. The interview itself is the easy part.

Glad to hear it went smooth for her. I'm still planning to go in a few weeks and we have everything ready to go so just hoping it all goes smooth.  I hope the move for you guys goes great!  Thanks for being so helpful the last couple months and I'm sure we'll stay in contact with the green card process lol

Silly question - did you pay the $265.00 fee at the embassy? We are having trouble paying online and just trying to be sure this won't be an issue.

No, she paid online and brought the emailed receipt to the appointment. I'm pretty sure you have to do it that way.

 

She didn't have any problems paying it, so I'm not sure what's gone wrong in your case. I hope you're able to figure it out!

Thankfully she was able to pay in cash there, a lot of people there were having the same issue. All approved though! Congrats to us both.

Hope you two are settling in well! I was wondering if there was any guidelines/checklist you're using for next steps?  Also, did your spouse end up buying any gap health insurance for K1s?

She's on her flight here right now, actually!! Exciting day. 😄 We're getting married at the courthouse on April 4, and will have a ceremony with friends and family later in the year.

 

I guess we're just using the Visajourney AOS guide, though I've only gotten some of it ready so far.

 

She didn't get travel insurance because we didn't think that was legal for this scenario? But she's got a 90 day supply of her medication, and we're getting married quickly so both of us can get a new plan as soon as possible.
