I went for another biometrics on Friday, didn't take long, but wondered why some people didn't have to do it and USCIS could use the ones from original AOS?

I also then got an email saying it had been updated on my account, so I guess we're now just playing the waiting game, anyone know of the expected wait times now?

I dont know why some are selected for biometrics again. Maybe someone else does. What center are you at for ROC? If you can believe the estimates sent by visa journey, ours for Potomac says March 31, 2023 for estimate  approval time. Last time it said November of 2024 so I'll take the new one!

1-751 extension letter has the last name spelled wrong just by one letter . Tried via filling out the typographical form but has been almost 2 months & nothing happened. It’s just one letter so should we just wait to see if the fix it when they sent Green card ? Will it be an issue if my spouse travels internationally with this mistake ?

Yes it could be a problem if the airline does not allow your spouse to board the plane home to the USA.

If you must travel you should make an infopass appointment at your local USCIS field office to get a i551 stamp in their passport bring the copy of the receipt notice and proof you will be traveling soon.

Call USCIS to schedule the appointment indicating that your extension letter is defective and you need proof of LPR status to travel.

Hey guys!

I filled ROC package  in December, 2021 and got assigned to LIN! and they misspelled my last name on the I-797, notice of action,  I recevied!  The biometric form had the same mistake. I had my fingers taken under the wrong last name. I tried to ask the guy at the local office who took my fingers to change the error. He said it is systematic and I have to go through USCIS to change. I am 1000 % percent the mistake is by their side since I have kept a copy of my apllication. I filed a typo error report. It has been two months! Nothing has made change about my name on my I-797!  So frustrated! I am worried my 10 year green card will come with wrong last name..... Any one in my situation? Please leave a comment if so! Thanks!

My hubby’s last name has a spelling mistake too. I had filed the typo error report in December but as nothing happened after a month filled it again in February. Now waiting to see if they fix it by March. When I called they said as I already filled it again to give it a month & then call

That is what I did. I travel a lot. I went to the local office to have my passport stamped since I also had wrong name on my extension letter...They took my old expired green card away though. DOnt know if I still need my old green card before being given a new one....

You won't need the old green card anymore, you can keep getting stamps as you need them until either you get your 10 year green card or you become a citizen.

The i551 stamp is your green card going forward.

Note if needed you can get an i551 stamp on an i94 form if your passport expires, if you need proof of your LPR without a valid passport.

Hi guys, hope you all had a great valentine's day!

Just finally read through everything from where I left,

and I started to get worried 😅

My package was received on 12/3/2021 and NOA was 12/8/2021,

and that was it... my receipt # is WAC.

Haven't heard anything since then,

should I give USCIS a call to see if I missed my biometrics notice?

Is anyone still waiting for the biometrics notice like me?

Our package is about the same dates as yours, only we are at LIN (Nebraska Service Center). My husband is doing RoC from a Cr-1, so he’s never had biometrics taken stateside. But we also haven’t received anything beyond the NOA, so I wouldn’t worry. :)

Check your case status online first and see what it says.

you just need your receipt number.

So I had a typographical correction request sent last month regarding the spelling mistake in last name. . Today got an email from Nebraska service centre that they have forwarded it to the adjudicating officer as only the officer reviewing the case can make the correction. What should I do next as I do have travel plans this summer ? As my travel is only in summer should I wait till I hve the proof of travel ?

Hi ,

I see in USPS informed delivery that I have a letter from USCIS, I already received my 24 month notice and biometrics reused letter. Not sure what is this letter for, no change in online status, super super worried. Has anyone faced this kind of situation. Thanks

I filed in Dec 2021, reviewed 24 month notice in Dec mid and biometrics in Dec end 2021

I would schedule an appointment to get the i551 stamp in your passport to extend your green card validity, and not chance it on the misspelled extension letter. Call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 and request an appointment for the I-551 stamp in your passport. The call center can schedule for an appointment at an office near you

I'm not sure what it could be, but I don't see any reason it would be bad news! Take a deep breath and wait for the letter to arrive, then come back here and update us with what it was. :) I have often stressed myself out with looking at something coming via informed delivery and it be no big deal in the end.
