I would schedule an appointment to get the i551 stamp in your passport to extend your green card validity, and not chance it on the misspelled extension letter. Call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 and request an appointment for the I-551 stamp in your passport. The call center can schedule for an appointment at an office near you

So finally got an appointment at the local office . Is it a fairly easy process or do they ask you more questions during the appointment? What should I expect?

Hi Violax,

After receiving my 2 year extension back in december, I also received by biometrics notice last week. It stated I don't require another appointment. Yes I'm glad they are back working on it and not requesting us to pay another $680!

Well, fingers crossed we don't have to pay again.

Hey guys,

I sent my document to USCIS on Dec.01.2021. However I haven't heard anything after Jan.26.2022.
This is my time line blow. I feel the process is too slow!

Is there anyone who has similar time line?

Dec.01.2021 : I-795 sent

Dec.11.2021 : Received I-797 / Notice of Action (Mentioned 24 months extend)

Dec.24.2021 : Received I-797C / Letter about the no need a biometrics

Jan.10. 2022 : On the Web / Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction

Jan.13. 2022 : Received Transfer Notice

Jan.26. 2022 : On the Web / Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview

I read a blog post that the author got a 10 years Green Card within 5 months after she sent the document in 2021.

I really wonder why my document takes that much time...
