I have no idea why the jury wasn't sequestered. They have probably already been threatened and are well aware there is a violent mob outside the court house. I suspect if they come back with a guilty verdict the judge will declare a mistrial or a miscarriage of justice.

Never understood why they were not sequestered.  I also heard the protesting could be heard inside the courthouse.  I agree, the motions for a mistrial are still on the table.

I think the judge wants to let the jury do their thing first hoping they go not guilty to avoid all the controversy that would ensue if he had to declare a mistrial.

That seems logical, I am sure he is aware of the risk to his own safety if he has to make the call.

The lawyers on Sean Hannity's Thursday show -- Gregg Jarrett and (somebody) 2.0 -- don't think so.  The jury sent no notes saying "we're deadlocked" or asking for explanation of law.  It's probably more that there are multiple charges to consider and the jurors want (need!) to do a thorough job.

 

Regardless, they'll probably be maimed or killed as soon as the case is adjourned.

If that happens, it should be an immediate death penalty case with no possibility of appeal.
