Hi there,

Finally after months I'm finally preparing all my paperwork for my K1 interview.

Being as nervous as I can be, I feel unsure about the proof of financial support.

My fiancee has sent me her tax returns, and she appears to be $600 short of the 125% poverty line, this has a reason.

She moved back to the USA from New Zealand(where we met) at the end of may 2020. started working after. which means she only worked 6months during 2020.

She had a good job and was making well above the 125%

She started a new job the beginning of November where she will make even more.

I currently have the tax return of 2020, last paystub from her last job. offer letter from her new job, paystub from her new job

will that be sufficient?

Her current income is more important than past income (i.e. tax returns).  How close is her current income to the FPL?

When is your interview, and will you be able to take some of her wage slips along?  Or does she have an employer letter spelling out her salary?

Auckland is not a rough consulate by any means - it is one of the easier ones.  To ease your mind, you could try and see if she can line up a joint sponsor in case it is asked for at the interview.  My bet is that it will not be, and that you will be fine with adequate documentation of current income.

Fiancee only needs 100%

125% is for a spouse

125% will be needed at time of AOS interview in the US for the green card

Sorry, missed this.  Is the salary spelled out in this letter?

It sounds like she is well qualified to sponsor you, and that you have the correct documentation to show that.  Honestly, I wouldn't bother with a joint sponsor.

Hi Thank you.

My interview is November 16th, I have a wage slip and an offer letter from her current job.

We're well over the FPL(53K net)

Im unfortunately not in Auckland since I'm Dutch, so will be doing it in Amsterdam

Oh, I see!  Well, Amsterdam is similar to Auckland from what I've seen here on VJ.

Her current income, as you say, is well over the minimum.  Past income (2020) is far less important.  Best wishes for your interview!
