How will this affect me? I applied at noon on the day of my early eligibility. Will I get denied since it’s showing 91 days early although that’s not true. I was able to submit my application without issues too. I’m not sure why they’d let me if it was a day early (it isn’t).

This is good example of not to file on the exact day you become eligible.  Give it few days after you become eligible to file.  Filing  Few days later not going to greatly delay your application. There is huge backlog in applications due to COVID-19 anyways.

Why the rush to apply 🤷🏾‍♂️ I dont get it ?

+1   Most people don't get it.  As intelligent human being, with the ability to think critically, can infer as to why somebody would do want to do this the second they perceived themselves to be eligible.  And one of the reason that can be inferred is that the green card/citizenship is the main goal for the marriage.  Not saying that it's always the case, but to many people it's very shady that somebody would actually count out 90 days exactly, and would not even consider giving themselves 1 extra buffer day "just in case".

Just to be safe, my wife gave herself a little over 2 years to apply for citizenship.

To be honest i never really thought about becoming a citizen. I came to this county in 1996 at the age of 11. I just got my citizenship about 3 months ago & i was actually the last to do so in my immediate family.  But reading on what could go wrong by applying one day early or even on the same date your window open its just not worth the risk, time & money in my opinion.

Just 2 years.  My god. What made her certain that filing 2 years after it being legally permissible was safe?

I got my green card in the second eon (between 1001 and 2000 AD, inclusive) and waited until the third eon, over 3 decades later.

I know, it was reckless  to file so soon. And some might say it was shady.  But I lucked out.

The Mrs will be filing N-400, by mail, at exactly 90 days before her 3 year anniversary of her “resident since” day.

I can not justify my action now. It is in the past now..and I relied on their system to auto check when I'm eligible vs not!

Please do not feel shamed or feel guilty  by the critical comments here.

You complied with the law and were burnt by USCIS. That’s what USCIS does: it burns people and once in a while it does its job as per the fees we pay it to do.

It isn’t your fault. USCIS has time zone or date calculation bug.  Advice you are being given that you should have waited a day, 2 days, a week, 2 years has as no basis even if the advisors are all software developers, I doubt any  of them have read USCIS’s code.  IOW we cannot predict how a software bug will manifest itself.

I hope you have evidence of filing in the lawful window and can use that evidence to over turn your denial, assuming you are denied.

Best wishes.

Did you use the USCIS  calculator? If you did not it is probable that you submitted it one day too soon. It will be returned and then you have to resubmit it. Unfortunately, many have made the same mistake.
