How will this affect me? I applied at noon on the day of my early eligibility. Will I get denied since it’s showing 91 days early although that’s not true. I was able to submit my application without issues too. I’m not sure why they’d let me if it was a day early (it isn’t).

There is a good possibility that your application will be rejected.  They are VERY strict concerning the 90 day window.  Waiting a few days into the window is always a good idea.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

It could become a headache for you when it comes time for the interview.  I agree with @Crazy Cat, it is best to wait a day or two as there appears to be IT clocks that may show things differently.  Here is a thread where another member was finally able to overcome the issue.

Good Luck!

I vaguely remember reading a post here in the forum of someone who got denied and after quite a lengthy appeal process was finally able to get his case approved. However, it is not worth it. Waiting an extra 2~3 days will save you a lot of headaches, money, and time.

Whether you're correct or not, the least you can do is bring up the topic during the interview because the best time to argue is in front of the IO. Have the supervisor be called or something? Make sure that you bring evidence though that you're correct. It'll be more of a headache if you don't bring up the potential issue and they denied your application, esp when you think that you're correct.

Does waiting a week after one is eligible for naturalization really bad? Does it make a difference? I’ve heard that it is better to wait few days after eligibility to apply.

Yes don't apply once the window opens. wait 3 days.

A week is more than enough.

Adil applied exactly on the 90 day but be careful of the time differences

as when it is 1am on east coast,  its still the day before in other time zones

and use the USCIS online calculator as some months have 31 days so u need to be careful

Waiting a few days is the best policy.  Too many people end up applying too early....and they get rejected.

Hi crazy cat! If one window opens 02/10/2021 (got green card 02/08/2017) when would you say it’s best to apply?

I would use the USCIS early filing calculator to determine the correct earliest filing date.  If filing online, I would wait a couple days to submit.  That is just my personal choice.....

Yes! I used the online calculator and the earliest filing date was yesterday. I will wait until tomorrow then. I hope this will be enough! Doesn’t really change much to wait until tomorrow.

Send it a week in. There is no rush but atleast you have peace of mind that USCIS won't throw shenanigans your way.

And file online. You will get receipt within 24 hours. The paper receipt will later make its way to you via mail but it is the same as the one you get online.

I filed mine online 2 weeks after window opened. By no means I am saying wait 2 weeks, but certainly wait a week in.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
