Hello everyone

New poster but lurker for a while!

Finally my fiancee on K1 has an expedited interview on November 18.

I am assuming the best so should I buy tickets now or wait until the day of interview.

Any estimate of when she can fly to the US ?

Any advice is greatly appreciated !

Thanks Del

Do not purchase anything, including tickets, which cannot be refunded or changed.  The visa must be issued and processed by the consulate, received by the applicant, and checked for errors.  Some applicants seem to have issues trying to depart PI, so I would urge caution since it could take several weeks before she can travel.   Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Don't buy the flight until she gets back the passport with the visa stamped on it.

Although most people get through the interview without issues, some are unpleasantly surprised with extra requirements - an additional document, shipping delays, visa typos, etc.

Don't forget that she needs to do the CFO seminar (if she hasn't done that already). Otherwise exit immigration won't let her depart the country.

I almost waited until my fiance had her bags packed and said all her good byes to everyone before I bought tickets. (Well not really that close)

But with the Covid thing and rules changing by the day, I waited until I was sure everything was in order.

My fiancee just arrived. I was 4 weeks from the interview to arrival. Issue and Delivery took 2 weeks. CFO and misc other travel related requirements took 2 weeks.
