20yr age difference

My husband went to his interview Nov 1 @830am.  After good morning and the first question was about age difference which is 20 yrs. He kept asking him about our families and other questions of course. Then after 5 min or so he got his passport and my transcript and decree, I've been married before. Then he told him have a seat someone will be calling you. My husband sat down and a lady called him spoke to him in urdu. Ask him if the CO had given him something he said no. She said are u sure? he said the CO said to have a seat that's all. Then the lady at counter said wait let me go ask him. He did and she brings a white paper and said check online for further information. My husband said ok thank you. Was put on AP was not asked for any papers? What does all of that mean? AP doesn't even say our cases number or dos

AP is very common in Pakistan, even more so when there are the red flags that you have.  Honestly have a look around VJ:  it could take years to get a decision.

you can expect a long long AP ,  yes,  but they returned your passport

i would keep an eye on CEAC site to know the status of your case

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV

BTW it will say Refused if just going thru AP

what is important is Denied or Issued

and with a 20 year age difference ,  it's going to be hard to get the visa approved

it will depend much on how much quality time you have spent together

and if the USC has started to commingle assets and added the spouse to IRS tax returns

It will be approved eventually tho. It might take time, But tbh this age gap is very common in Pakistan. My husband is 8 years older than me my sister's husband is 12 years older than her but both don't even look older.

oh okay. Same religion. Yeah usually in Pakistan women are a lot younger. But that shouldn't matter.

Don't worry you'll get approved eventually. If the marriage is bonafied they can't reject it. It just takes time sometimes.

I mean...this isn't strictly true. They absolutely can reject it, if THEY don't believe it's genuine. Just search on here and you'll find many instances of visas being rejected for this exact reason.

That's not to say the OP should worry - there's no value in that - but there's also absolutely no guarantee, unlike you seem to be suggesting.
