3 year path to citizenship for spouse, but what about spouse's child?

hi.

i am aware that a spouse of a US citizen who is a permanent resident (GC holder) can apply for US citizenship after 3 years (instead of the normal 5 years).  In this case the spouse and her child came  to the US via a K1visa.

My question is:

what abut the child of that spouse?  can the child of the spouse  also apply after 3 years (instead of the normal 5)?

if yes, any links to formal documentation would be appreciated.

many thanks

If the child is under 18 when the parent naturalizes, the child becomes a USC so can't apply for citizenship. The parents can directly apply for the child's passport. They can also file N600 for the child thereafter if they want  the precious citizenship certificate at a whopping $1,170 fee.

thanks.

in this case the child of the spouse will have turned 18 before the spouse/mother applies.   how would that impact things?
