She was approved today at the honolulu office! Her citizenship oath will be 11 July 07.

She was asked 6 questions from the list. Voting age, preamble, what congress is made of, etc.

She was asked to write, "the boy threw the ball."

She was asked to read something like, "It is sunny today."

She was asked to verify that she will follow the laws of the U.S., etc.

The officer was very welcoming and professional. The appointment was 2:20, and my wife waiting about 15 minutes after that. She was introduced to the officer and waited while the officer read through her file. My wife was asked if she lives with me and if I live with her (required questions for 319b filing). After the civics test, she was tentatively approved and then the officer went somewhere for about an hour for final approval.

After final approval, she got her approval paperwork, and was confirmed for the 11 July oath date.

Keep in mind your experience and timelines might (will) be different, since we filed under expedited 319b for overseas military.

Thanks to all the previous posters who allowed us to do the whole thing without using lawyers.

07/06/09 - I-751 sent to CSC

08/14/09 - Biometrics

09/27/09 - Approved

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview

NATURALIZATION

28th july 2007 - N-400 mailed to VSC

(exactly on the 90th day mark...applications NOT returned although some scared me into thinking they could have!)

30th july 2007 - N-400 delivered to VSC

11th august 2007 - Delivery Confirmation receipt received

17th september 2007 - Money Order (FINALLY!) cashed

9th november 2007 - NOA! (notification period given 180 days)

21th november 2007 - Biometrics appointment letter

18th december 2007 - Biometrics appointment in Baltimore, MD completed

29th march 2008 - FINALLY received letter with interview date!

8th may 2008 H 8:40 AM - Interview in Baltimore-APPROVED!

8th may 2008 H 3:00 pm (yes same day, crazy!) Oath Ceremony in Baltimore

24th may 2008 - US Passport application mailed off

6th june 2008 - US Passport received in the mail!!!
