oh you live near DC is it? Your profile shows dallas tx. DC processing time for n400 is showing 11.5 months while Dallas TX is 12 months so ya, you would have to be very very lucky if you get interview notice before May 29th. so maybe pace your expectations until then, else it will be 4 very frustrating months.

I am from San Francisco where the interview letter seems to be getting sent very consistently after 12-13 months so I am not checking my status every hour until Oct 2022. Besides, some of us waited 12 years just to even get a GC I know many who have been in this country legally for 20+ yrs paying taxes and still don't have a GC. Another 7-8 months for becoming a citizen shouldn't be too hard right? :)

Yeah we’re near DC. And if anything I haven’t been checking enough! After we did the K1 stuff and waiting everyday for her to get here, once she did I relaxed a lot lol. I’ve been on this site maybe 5 times in the past year to be honest. My wife is here and going to school and working and has friends, it’s hard to think she isn’t officially permanent yet (ROC still hasn’t been processed either) so sometimes it slips my mind she’s not American 🤪

I think we started this together in June 2017 in the K-1 thread? Don't miss those days of waiting while separated. I am excited that her N-400 interview is coming on Feb 23rd and if she passes we are completely done with the process.

If she applies for her brother or sister maybe I need to stay on the forums for another 15 years?  😵🤢

Nice way to rub it in!

just kidding, I’m glad to see there is an end to it all. It’ll be cool when it happens but I’m not counting the days like in 2017. Seems like quite awhile ago…

Quick question, since the biometrics appointment is waived, do you still have to pay the biometrics fee when filing N-400? Thank you in advance!

So, the question in the N-400 application is "Have you taken a trip outside of the United States in the last 5 years?", and then you have to list all your trips outside the US.  I assume this question was written for those who are applying on the basis of 5 years of permanent residency, and it hasn't been adjusted to take account of the fact that people (like me) are eligible to apply for citizenship after only 3 years of residency.  I think the question is probably intended to ask "have you taken a trip outside the United States since you became a lawful permanent resident"...

So, if applying for citizenship on the basis of 3 years' permanent residency, do you answer this question: (a) with 3 years of travel history (which doesn't strictly answer the question as-written, but answers it in terms of travel taken since becoming a lawful permanent resident), or (b) 5 years of travel history (which will include 2 years when I wasn't living in the US)?!

Thanks in advance for any help!

For the folks that’s waiting on a biometric notice or notice of reuse, how many days are you willing to wait (ex. 90-120) before  you inquire about your case?

I received the letter immediately. Not sure if there is a way for you to follow up. I had to reschedule my appointment and after that it took 3-4 weeks for them to reschedule and send the letter. I'm in Nashville area though so I'm not sure if it's less busy than where you are.

I’m in Mn and they’re super slow. And it sucks not being able to reach out to them and talk to an actual human.

I hear you.  Rescheduling always pushes back your application another months or more. It's like you are throwing a wrench in the slow moving gears.

I advise everyone to Keep your appointments if all possible.
