I-864 Birth cert and passport or just passport

Hello,

For the I-864 is Birth cert and passport required  or just passport?  To me it says one or the other...

The instructions say:

For U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals, a copy of your birth certificate, passport, or certificate of naturalization or citizenship.

A copy of a U.S. birth certificate is the gold standard.  Expect the original to be demanded at the AOS interview
