Rcmp police check for NVC

Hi everyone,

My wife is immigrating to the US. We went through the i130 and are now dealing with the NVC. We are struggling with getting the right police check. The reciprocity describes a document that is certified but also will not have a seal, it implies that it must say the words RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings. It also says it will not have an image of the applicants finger prints. My wife went to the local police station, showed them all the expected wording and we received an rcmp police check without the Entire Holdings wording but has a seal and images of the fingerprints. She spoke with the local police again and they insist that there are no boxes for them to check to get this form. The RCMP acts like they have no idea what we are talking about. When I called the NVC I was told it was Canada requiring the specifics but then the representative described one of three examples that she had, one of them matching our document.

My main concern is that I'm hearing about documents being approved by the NVC that are later rejected at the Montreal interview. I'm having a hard time confirming an acceptable 2021 police check. Can anyone confirm specifics from a recent interview?

Thanks

Check this FAQ thread for CR1/IR1 applicants in Canada.  It describes the correct police certificate and how to get one --

Thank you for responding. I think the FAQ could be out of date since the posts are more than a year old. I just spoke with a person at the NVC who described an example with images of the finger prints. My wife is also hearing from the local police and RCMP that they don't know what she is talking about in regards to the description in the FAQ. I was hoping someone had an example that was from 2021.

Check out the FAQ linked in my signature, I keep it up to date as things happen and then periodically post updates to the linked thread (usually when something major changes, though I think it's probably due for an update soon just because it's been so long). If you can get to one, commissionaires is your best bet for getting the correct police certificate.

Thanks for the advice. My wife is going to the commissionaries and just getting every police check they will give her. That way we can give the NVC what they want and then let the embassy choose their favorite.

I clicked on your profile name but I'm not seeing FAQ's is it under a certain section?

The faq link is under each of my posts in the forum (I don't think it's visible from my profile). If you're on mobile my signature will be collapsed so the link will be hidden unless you expand it :)
