Hi Eva! Congrats! I think it usually takes about a week. Was your case at the National Benefits Center? And what's your local field office?

Thank you!

Hi!

If to be honest I don't know where my case is, I sent everything to Chicago Lockbox.

My local field office in San Diego.

Just to update on our case. The EAD was approved yesterday and says a new card is being produced for my husband.

I hope everyone continues to see movement!

UPDATE

11/24 Mailed AOS Package

12/1 AOS received

12/3 NOA 1 for each application via text (I-485, I-765, I-131)

12/11 Biometrics appt scheduled

1/6 Biometrics Completed. Status updated to "case actively reviewed."

1/11 Expedited Request submitted for EAD, due to job offer.

I hope my husband can get his EAD by next month! Once that happens, waiting for everything else will be a little easier.

UPDATE:

1/6 Biometrics Completed. Status updated to "case actively reviewed."

1/11 Expedited Request submitted for EAD, due to job offer.

1/25 Contacted Congressman's office to follow up on the expedite request, on our behalf

2/11 USCIS requested additional information/evidence. This was submitted on our online account, but they wanted it faxed.

4/5 I contacted Congressman's office again. By this point, I had new medical information that I believe justified our case for an expedite under humanitarian reasons. I forwarded the doctor's letter and other supporting documents to the case worker from my Congressman's office. She submitted this new information to the USCIS.

4/7 APPROVED FOR EAD!! USCIS Account says Card Being Produced.

Just waiting on the combo card now! Our I485 was approved for expedited processing, as well, so I hope to get the interview and Green Card soon.

QUESTION: When should I receive the Social Security Card, approximately? In the application, I remember checking the box "Yes" where it asks "Do you want a Social Security Number to be created for you?" Can my spouse start working if he has the Work Permit, but not SSN?

Congrats !

According to USCIS page

We will mail your SSN card to the address you listed on your I-765 application. You should receive your SSN card no later than 7 business days after you receive your EAD from USCIS. Please call or visit an SSA office if you do not receive your SSN card within 7 business days after receiving your EAD.

I have received my EAD and SSN today.
I didn’t have to wait 7 more days for SSN. Received both mails at the same day. :)
