Posting this here so that others don't make the same mistake for their IR 1 or CR 1 interviews:

My wife appeared for her IR 1 interview on Oct 12 at the Mumbai consulate. The interview went well but she was given a 221g refusal because the consular officer determined the file was incomplete. The document in question was Tax Return Transcripts - they insisted on having either a Tax Return transcript or a W2. Tax returns of last 4 years and financial statements from banks and investments weren't sufficient. Our income and investments are way above the limit but I don't have a W2 because I am an entrepreneur and don't take a salary from my businesses.

Luckily, she was asked to submit the transcript and passport to a local VFS pick up center so the visa should still come through. But it created a very tense and panicky few hours for us.

Learning for everyone : Make sure you submit your IRS transcripts, not just tax returns, if you don't have a W2.

My dad had his IR5 interview yesterday at Mumbai consulate. He was asked for transcripts and W2s as well. A lot of questions too - not complicated questions but a lot of questions. My mom was asked three questions vs. he was asked at least a dozen.

Could someone please share from their experience how much time it is taking to receive passport ( collection) after immigration visa approved?

It was pretty quick for us - passport was ready in 2 days for pick up but this was in October

My wife got 221G today, we have all documents and she answered all the questions. Most of it around how we met, marriage etc. Do we know how many days to receive 221G questions in mail  and the overall duration for next steps (interview again or dropbox) ?  What kind of additional proof we can submit for marriage or relationship?

Anyone booked Biometrics appointment at Mumbai OFC in recent time like March?

Currently there are no Biometrics appointment slots available at Mumbai OFC for the month of April and May and my Consular appointment is scheduled by NVC at May month end.

So just wondering when slots getting opened at Mumbai OFC for Biometrics!!

Any suggestion will be really helpful.
