I see the IL announcement in facebook group.  It is standing alone.  usually bunch of ILs come together when NVC works one day a month.  This is an odd one.   IL received Jan 11th for Feb 7th interview.  DQ date is March 2022.  IR/CR1

Had Our CR1 & IR2 interview at Mumbai Embassy on 19th Jan 2023.

Status: Approved

( Biometric appointment: December first week @ Delhi, Medical is on 5th January @ Max Delhi)

Interview experience:

The interview time was at 8:30 am, reached there at 07:40 am and were allowed to be in the queue and go inside.  We were alone, and if you have any family members accompanying can wait across the street. You need to have the interview appointment email printed and your passport to go inside. Then comes a long queue and a place where you can submit your phones or earphones/pen drives etc. there, I had my phone, and they charged me Rs.50/- for one phone. Then the security check, it's just like the airport security check. Then they let us go inside, again you have to wait in seats, then finally inside the interview place.

You go to the first counter and take the tokens

Then wait until your token number shows up on the screen. Here you can select the language if not English.

We were called after waiting for almost 45 mins.

Indian officer:

Who is calling you?

Have you ever been to the US or any other country?

Collected original documents for me( Passport, Marriage certificate, PCC, birth certificate, divorce decree, custody documents)

Collected original documents for my daughter( passport, birth certificate)

Asked me to keep the latest tax transcripts handy so I can hand them over to the American officer when asked.

No passport-size photographs or photocopies of documents were asked.

Then waited for another 15-20 minutes and were called by the American officer. The interview language was English. They make us raise our right hand and take the oath.

Questions

Who is the petitioner?

Have you ever been to the US?

Is this your first marriage?

How did you meet?

When did you separate and divorce?

When did your husband got legally separated and divorced?

What does your husband do for a living?

What do you do?

How old is your stepdaughter?

When did you last meet your husband?

Where did you go when you met last time?

How old is your daughter?

How old are you? (asked my daughter)

How often do you talk to your husband?

Where did your stepdaughter was born?

When did your husband immigrate to the US?

Where does your husband live and with whom?

Where was your marriage conducted?

How many people attended?

Why did only 30 people were invited to attend?

Do you have any wedding photographs?

After a few minutes, my daughter was allowed to go and sit, and then he asked me questions regarding divorce/separation etc.

Didn't ask for any other proof like chats/calls/emails/ money transfers/ hotel or flight tickets etc. Didn't even ask for the latest tax transcript.

After about 30 minutes of the interview, he said your visa is approved and handed over some printouts of visa approval, green card payment, etc. Returned all other documents except passports.

Just be honest. Even if you don't remember specific dates or timelines correctly, it's okay. They are just trying to make sure that your relationship and marriage are real.

Visa ready for pick up on 23 January 2023. Location @ Cochin

Hey everyone, I was trying to book the biometrics, I was taken to this site: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/updatedata. On here after choosing CR1 category it changed the location to Mumbai. Chennai is closer for us. Did everyone had to get their biometrics at Mumbai?

Not necessarily in Mumbai.  You can go to biometrics any service center

Can someone please assist me:

My father as an IR5 interview next month, however, his passport is due to expire soon and he is in the process of renewing. My father has provided NVC with Police Clearance Certificates from three different countries. Will my father need to provide updated PCC's during the interview due to renewing his passport?
