We were DQed on Jan 7 2021 for F21 category with Priority date May 2019. Today when I logged in to check the status, it says -

"Due to the numerical limitations on immigrant visa issuance prescribed by law, this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time. The National Visa Center (NVC) will retain the petition until an immigrant visa becomes available. The NVC will notify the petitioner, principal applicant, or attorney of record when this petition is eligible for further processing. The principal applicant should not make any firm plans such as disposing of property, giving up jobs, or making travel arrangements at this time"

Does it mean we will have to wait until 1 Oct for the visa to become available. The visa bulletin clearly mentions my priority date as current. What do you guys think my next step should be?

Does anyone know your CR-1case is passed the 2nd anniversary, how long it take to convert into IR-1? Do they automatically convert it or you have to call NVC  and ask about it?

CR1/IR1 does not matter after DQ. They just go by DQ date.

Any one with EB1 visa category, My case creation date was 2017 and since last 1 year my PD is CURRENT, my NVC DQ is July 2021, I see many IR1 and family based visas in this forum, any thoughts on the employment based (EB1). Is f21 and f2a same ?.. because I am also having the same issue here. When I logged in this what I saw (Due to the numerical limitations on immigrant visa issuance prescribed by law, this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time. The NVC will notify the petitioner, principal applicant, or attorney of record when this petition is eligible for further processing. Has anyone been required to get spouse's name on passport before they issue PCC?

In some places, people have reported being asked by PSK officials why they don't have their spouse's name in their passport, given that this is marriage-based immigration. Others have sailed through the process without being being required to do so. To be on the safe side, I'd say put it in if it's not too late. Also, it is another proof you can use to show a bonafide marriage.

I asked my lawyer Abby this because I was wanting to change my name to my marries name. The process to do this at least in US is so backlogged she said don't risk it because I coould be caught out with no passport and then unable to go to India or anywhere til I get it. The process takes months right now and people are without a passport for almost a year. They know this so they should not be asking. I want to change my name as I am proud to be married and will do this once we have visa. I also Ama dual citizen so I have to change everything.
