Hii, I got DQ on 28 Oct 2021 for my F2A file

( PD: 17 July 2019) now i want to convert my category from F2A to CR1. Should I do it ? … I am afraid that if change now, they will mess with my already documentary qualified file and put it under review…

Can anyone please guide me ?

Congrats on getting DQ'd! As far as I know, changing your category won't impact your place in the queue for interview. Your DQ date is more important than your status, now that you're CR1. Also, CR1 gets priority over F2A, for the interview.

All the best!

I have to look up all the dates filing. My attorney filed for us from California and we did the first part in July 2019. We got moved to NVC January 2020. I had to move back here from the country I was living in to establish residency and begin a job. I moved here in February 2020 began work when we shut down due to Covid. It took a long time to get certain documents but we did it and in August we got DQ. I have no idea what to expect as a time frame for getting an interview.

Please tell me this isn’t the case.

I wish it wasn't (shrug). Your only hope is an approved expedite. Or maybe things will start moving quickly, now that the pandemic is gradually receding. Barring any Omicron-related lockdowns, of course. Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer 😔

No surprise, my request for expedited interview was denied. But it was a step to get the state dept. involved. My congressional local rep said they will now be pushing the state dept to regularly inquire as to when we might get an interview date. She said she will be with us till we get one. I feel like that can be a good thing as the embassy needs to get going and stop saying how they are unable to accommodate because of Covid. They are in a new building from what I understand. Keeping a good thought for us all.

Same here. I got DQ’d in Nov 2020 and still waiting for interview. No idea on how long the wait is. How can I join the telegram group or any other group that would be helpful? Thank you!

That’s too long. I’m worried it’s going to be another year….They need to do more to clear the backlog or get a system in place that isn’t in person.
