Update on our insanity trying to get everything ready in 2 weeks lol.
Sidd was able to get a certified copy of our marriage license from where we got married, which is awesome cuz my package with nothing but papers in it is being held by Mumbai customs …..

Sidd’s new PCC has been approved, printed and dispatched by passport office but the tracking # doesn’t show up in the mail system so no one has any idea where it is currently cuz if we did he would just go get the darn thing from post office.
…..

So here we are, 2 days b4 interview, on opposite sides of the world, with documents held up & lost in mail system…. We’re at the point of just having  to laugh bout all this cuz of how crazy these 2 weeks have been, otherwise we’ll be crying😂

……

We are expecting a 221 cuz of this document fiasco & hoping if required docs don’t arrive in time, Sidd can just drop them off at a Dropbox when they do arrive. We’ve got pages of proof we’ve contacted everyone possible so many times that they know us on a first name basis now😂. We’ve got proof we’ve paid extra for fastest possible delivery & done everything in our power to get these documents in time so it’s in Gods hands now.
……
So in conclusion, unless you want to age 5 yrs in 2 weeks, DONT be like Missy (me) & Sidd and procrastinate getting PCC and documents to India😂
……
I’ll keep y’all updated and will definitely let y’all know how interview goes before posting a review, Sidd will post the review since he’s the one that gets the pleasure of going to it lol.
…..

Side note-

We've had probably every possible document problem happen to us & we started this process with Sidd not having any documents except a PAN and an aadhar card. Because his parents split up, his dad passed away & Sidds been on his own most of his life, just getting his birth certificate was a 6 month process.
So if anyone has document questions, I may be able to help, just may take me a bit to respond cuz of this interview we weren’t prepared for lol.

Someone posted in Facebook group that had IR1 interview today to consulate officer and they said PCC is valid for two year.

Oh my gosh, if it is good for 2 yrs that would be such a huge relief for Sidd!!! It sucks there isn’t a definite answer about this, UStraveldocs shouldn’t be telling ppl it’s good for a yr and Consulate telling ppl it’s good for 2 yrs. Don’t they understand how stressed out is visa folks are😆!

Thanks for posting this!

The way the person said 2yrs “only” seems odd to me, it’s how you would phrase this if meant 1 yr only. Did anyone question this person in comments or anything to confirm they meant 2 years?
Im not questioning the honesty of person, just want to confirm they meant 2 yrs and not 1. The word only seems strange to add to 2 years.
Im not on FB or I’d look myself.

I can vouch that he/she meant 2 years. Please do not read too much into our English.😄

I really like the fact that things are moving at Mumbai Consulate for us (IR1/CR1).

Feel happy to see all the shared information. Makes me feel I am not alone in the boat.

Since Sidd got the marriage certificate in hand and as PCC is valid for 2 years, you guys are good now. Phewww. By the way, I had a similar experience with Bangalore customs with a package of just Books.

Thanks again for sharing and all the best to all of us!

I’m so happy for you! And completely know what india post is like. Generally if you courier things it’s much better. I’m going to visit my husband after two years of not getting to be home. I had already sent original documents to him when we DQ’d in August. But I’m bringing everything else just in case we are lucky and get a letter. Good job! And congratulations to you. May we all get our loved ones here soon🙏🏽💕

Thanks!!!
How exciting to get to see your hubby after so long!!♥️ How long will you guys get to be together? Sidd and I got married in Nov 2019, went in a week honeymoon and I left. Planned 3 trips in 2020 that were all canceled so we decided to just wait till this Covid ####### was over before planning again so it’s also been a little over 2 yrs since Ive seen him, I feel your pain!🤗 It was -30F here this morning so Sidd was sorta glad he wasn’t here yet😆.

Thank God Sidd was able to get a certified copy of marriage license, my package is still being held by customs lol. His PCC showed up thankfully although more & more people are saying old one is good for 2 years now.

They seem to be moving really fast now so hopefully all of you get your interviews really soon!!!

You helped reassure us so much, thank you!! His new PCC showed up at last minute so that was a blessing just incase they wanna say his old one is only good for a year, doesn’t seem to be much consistency bout how long it’s valid for lol.

I sure hope all of you get your interview dates really soon!! I really appreciate this thread and the spreadsheet!!

Sidd goes for interview in 8 hrs, soooooo excited to finally be at this point!! Even if we get a 221, we’re so grateful to have finally made it to this point. Remember seeing others in our spot when we were just starting the process and feeling like we’d never reach the interview process or thinking that we’d screw up something really bad cuz Sidd & I are just normal folks with zero experience in doing this sorta big paperwork stuff. His entire family has told him the whole time that we can’t do this on our own and needed a lawyer or agent if there was any chance of having an approved visa. We’ve made a few mistakes along the way but they’ve helped us learn and do things better at the next step in the process.

Once I know what happens at Sidd’s interview I’ll let y’all know!

Sidd is gonna ask when he goes.
I was poking around on another site and saw a few people that had family members getting 15 day notice interviews and weren’t able to get PCC in time and they all said that the PCCS over 1 year old, were accepted by Consulate so it’s looking more and more like they are accepting PCCs over 1 yr old. Now, UStraveldocs told me specifically PCC was only good for 1 year so there are conflicting answers lol. I’ll let y’all know what Consulate tells Sidd, his interview is in 8 hrs😁
