My lawyer has said the same about if we ever were caught out without original docs. I’m really concerned about fourteen vaccines at once. We talked about getting some from his doctor in our village over a time. But my lawyer said that clients have had their vaccine records refused by the panel physician and they had to get them all over again. Congratulations on getting interview though May we all get ours soon.

So these are the shots Sidd got, he had no vaxx history except for Covid shots.

4 shots total-
TdaP
MMR
Varicella
Influenza

If anyone has any questions bout biometrics or medical I’ll try to answer them since my hubby just went through them.

Question for y’all now, anyone have any luck getting a certified marriage certificate in India for Special Marriage Act? I’m getting doubtful ours is gonna make it through the extremely backlogged & delayed shipping process to get to India in time 😤

If you have the email copy that may have to suffice. Generally India speed post is terrible. I send everything international priority or FedEx. Our marriage certificate never arrived from Delhi to Dharamsala. I had to contact the attorney in Delhi to have him go the office and get another one.

We got married in May 2019. After about a month, we both went to the Sub-Registrar's office (marriage certificate issuing authority) in Hyderabad, India and provided all the necessary documents along with the marriage document from the venue where it took place. We received the certificate on the same day...took around 2 hours. Did not pay anything extra to anyone in the office. It was not crowded for us in the Sub-Registrar's office.

If the marriage certificate that you sent to India was issued in India, ask Sidd to go to the local office where it was issued, show the electronic copy to them and ask to issue a duplicate. Can be done in a day.

Consular officer will want to see the original documents for all the documents you submitted at NVC. Worst case scenario, Sidd can explain to the officer the situation about the marriage certificate and show him the email with the tracking number.  He may just be asked to submit the original in a mail instead of an extra appointment.

All the best!

I spoke with my attorney today and she said when she asks for updates from the embassy, they just send a form letter. She feels like myself, that they're using COVId as an excuse to be so slow. Her quote was "How can they have not issued visa appointments for so long then suddenly some people are get two weeks notice. She said none of her clients waiting for Mumbai have gotten IL. Looking at this list it seems none of us that were DQ'd in 2021 have been contacted. :(

The 2 week notice has taken all the joy outta getting the interview. There are some things that just cannot be done in 2 weeks.
From this experience we’re having let me give all of you waiting for interview a tip, get all the required documents to spouse in India and make sure you renew your PCC now if it’s expired.

What kind of originals required ? It's a good idea to maintain the list here for everyone's awareness.

1. Marriage Certificate

2. Date of Birth

3. PCC

4. IL/Welcome Letter (Anyway it's printed from the email)

5. Printed DS-260 confirmation

6. Printed DS-260 Application

7. I-864 ?

8. Printed Tax returns of the Sponsor

I don't remember some. Please add it.

I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m also disappointed that the embassy is requesting this with only two weeks notice. I sent my husband all the original documents when we qualified. I’m visiting in April for a month so bringing all the most recent ones like a new letter of employment. I’m hoping that maybe we’ll get a letter when I am there. Save me another trip. Hang in there. You get to have your beloved with you soon. That’s all I want🙏🏽
