O-3 Visa and Potential Marriage to USCIT

Inquiring for a family friend.  Our friend's family are in the US on a O-3 visa and their son who is attending college here may soon be marrying his USCIT girlfriend.  Does anyone know if they marry here in the U.S., will she have to sign an Affidavit of Support after they marry to adjust his status from O-3 to?  If so, can she have her parents co-sign the Affidavit of Support since she is also a student and does not work at this time?

Sorry for all of the questions, but I'd appreciate any help we could provide them.

Thank you all in advance!

Sincerely,

NBF.

GF is the one who signs the AoS.

GF must sign and submit an I-864 form as the petitioning sponsor, no co-signees.  A parent of GF should sign and submit their own I-864 form as the joint sponsor.  Depending on the joint sponsor's income, the other parent may need to sign an I-864A form.

Please advise your friends to check out VJ's Adjustment of Status guide by clicking on the blue bar menu links at the top of the page.
