Hello. My husband is oversea and his visa interview expedited because I am 37weeks pregnant. He had his interview oct 20th however they give him 221G white form to submit the tax transcript and return his passport as well. Now I’ve been checking everyday to schedule his 221G interview but it never shows available. Can you someone tell me how soon you will get an interview and what and how long is the the process after submission? 😞

The above post was split from an unrelated thread in the CR-1 Process forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Did he already submit what was asked?

Unfortunately, it is up to the embassy.

What country are we talking about here?

Yes he was asked to tell your wife to submit IRS tax transcript on NVC( which I did last week) and make an appointment for 221G in india and submit his passport along with documents. It’s been 2weeks now. And it says there is no appointment available. 😣. So stressful. Everything was already too delayed due to covid.

Has he submitted the passport?

Unfortunately, India has a serious backlog and with you being 37 weeks pregnant, I do not see him getting to US in time to be here for the birth of the child. Infact, you are late (as far as I know, most pregnancies are 36 weeks, but 37 is still understandable).

I would prepare myself for a birth without him.

No he have not submitted that passport yet. He needs an appointment for 221G in order for him to submit the passport. And there is no appointment available as far as I am checking everyday on the site. Yes I’m prepared for birth without him but just curious as to how long it will take since it’s been over 2years now… covid delayed so much and now 221G. Ugh what was the purpose of the expediting the case of you not going to give the visa when person has all the valid documents on him and don’t even ask for it.

Even after the documents are furnished,  the AP in India is long and extensive

this is thinking they have not started the required extra security checks as they were not privy to all documents at the 1st interview

if u are lucky,  they have started them and the 2nd interview will just be simple one to reaffirm the information

but he will need a new medical exam

I am due on my regular date. My question was how long does it take 221G appointment to be scheduled once the tax transcript has been submitted to the NVC

There is no way to know.  However, it is quite unlikely he would be here for the baby's birth, unfortunately.   Kind of the risk one assumes when conceiving during the immigration process.  Good luck to you.

Many consulates don't require another interview for a 221g.  They instruct the applicant to send the required documents back or drop them off.  I think you just have to keep checking the schedule.
