Hi all,

Long time lurker first time poster. I had my visa interview yesterday and it went great. I was surprised when I went to the documents person that he said that my medical had not been received. My medical was 7 working days prior to the interview and I had been assured by visa medicals that my medical was going over the Thursday before my interview at the absolutely latest. During the actual interview the interviewer said don’t worry about it we don’t have the medicals for about 75% of the people coming today, we’ve not received anything from visa medicals in the past few days. She said that if they got the medical yesterday it would be approved yesterday, if they got it tomorrow it will be approved tomorrow. After the interview I called visa medicals and gave them hell. They apologized and said that it was 100% going today they could see it in the queue etc etc etc. i called them twice throughout the day but it hadn’t gone and was told the same thing. I called first thing this morning and they said yes it went late yesterday the embassy will have it this morning.

My question from here is what to expect? How will I know if it’s been processed? Will the “check my status” on the ceac website be updated or will the first I hear be the notification from the couriers?

The current status on the ceac check is refused (which i knew would happen) and the ais site still says it’s at interview.

Any info or experience you can share would be appreciated.

edit- Visa medicals told me my medical is all good and there are no issues or concerns on it.

Same thing happened for my husband's K-1 interview in Auckland.  It is quite common.  The medical delay simply puts the case into a temporary 221g refusal, pending completion of the file.  Overall, it didn't create a measurable delay in the visa issuance.

His medical exam was three days before the visa interview, and he had his visa in hand around 10 days later as I recall.

Thanks for the reply, do you know how you were notified that it was all now approved? As in couriers saying they’ll deliver it, email from the embassy etc etc

I am not sure I would believe any mention of something happening same day.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The date may change on your status when they get the medical.  Your status will change from refused to “Issued” when it’s a done deal. Then you’ll get an email With a tracking number for the courier.

You should make a timeline and say what visa you are getting. Additional information depends on the visa.

I believe the CEAC status changed to "issued," although my husband seems to recall that he was also notified by the courier.  This was not for London though, and their processes are likely different.

Just closing the loop on this one. I emailed the London embassy email address on the green form they gave me this morning and advised that I had spoken to visa medicals and that they had sent my medical over. I got a reply 30 minutes later saying that they had received my medical and passed my case over to a case officer. An hour later my case was in administrative processing and 30 minutes later it was in issued. Thanks for the input all!

After my interview, everything went on well but because I haven’t completed my Medicals, the Consular Officer gave me back my passport to go complete my Medicals, and told me as soon as the embassy receives my Medicals they will notify me to bring my passport. Is it a good sign to get the visa ?

What is your visa? What country and embassy? This is a forum for London experiences. Is that where you interviewed?

If you would fill out your profile and timeline, it would be most helpful to those that answer questions. Do you need help finding where to do that?
