So I got a status change for my I-751 today, Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview 😅 Funnily enough, it’s also the first day of when I can send an electronic request for things taking forever. Do you guys think it means anything? My N-400 is still at Case is being actively reviewed. I’m so sick of their useless statuses.

It means you have to get ready for I-751 interview.

I'd also prepare for N-400 in case if decide to do it as a combo.

Make sure to take additional evidence and your US citizen spouse.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Hey guys, my immigration journey has come to an end, finally. My conditional green card was approved three weeks ago (a week after N-400 interview and its approval). I received my 10 years' green card a week ago - I am not sure why they event sent it as I had to retun it (along with with expired one and the expired employment card they had sent three years ago) during my citizenship naturalization oath ceremony yesterday.

Wishing you all good luck. :)

I ended up filing my husband's N-400 yesterday because this ROC is way overdue. Fingers crossed that it actually moves. The USCIS online page is giving me an estimate of 16 months for a case decision.

I had my combo interview this morning in San Francisco office. It lasted 25 minutes or less. We were invited by an officer in time, no delays. At first, she went through our I-751 form asking questions about everything that we put there, no additional questions about our relationship. She also didn't ask for any documents. At the end of the application she told us that we signed it wrong. I originally signed it as a petitioner and my husband signed it as a beneficiary but she said it's not the right away and gave us a red pen to resign it next to our original signatures and put a new date on it. Then, she asked for my husband to leave and started a citizenship interview which I passed. She let me sign docs on a tablet regarding how my information is going to be displayed on a naturalization certificate. At the end though she said Congratulations, and gave me a paper saying that 'Decision can't be made' instead of 'Recommended for approval'. She said it's because of I-751, and that next steps will probably be scheduling an Oath ceremony.

I'm a little confused because I double checked after the interview and it looks like we originally signed it correctly, that I am a petitioner for I-751. Or did I get it wrong? I'm a little nervous because of 'Decision can't be made' thing, especially given that she didn't ask me to provide any docs out of a 10-pounder that I printed and brought with me. My statuses still show "Interview was scheduled" for both N-400 and I-751.

For an I-751, the Green Card holder is the petitioner (and beneficiary).  The USC spouse signs the spouse area.  I think you will be fine.  Sometimes, they just like to look back over the case.  Keep checking the status.  You should see "Oath ceremony will be scheduled" (or something similar) for the N-400 soon.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you for your positive perspective! I hope it will be over soon.

My Oath was scheduled for November 15th. Finally! The only thing is that the status on I-751 didn't change from "Interview was cancelled". Is it normal for them to schedule oath without approving the green card first?

Normal.  Wife's I-751 didn't change for a few days!!!   YOU DID IT!!!!   You have escaped from the grasp of USCIS!!!!

Congratulations!!! I heard it's not uncommon to see some pending status for I-751 even months after oath. I wouldn't pay attention to online status anymore.

@OldUser @Crazy Cat Thank you, guys! I still can't believe it's almost over. I got so used to my bureaucratic abuser at this point, but I won't miss them! 😆

I should know this probably...after the oath and becoming a citizen, does your Alien number remain active and is it ever used for anything? Or is it truly the end of the line of the immigration journey?
