I’m not gonna argue with you. I only have my RFE being successfully resolved so I speak of my own experience. They do ask in RFEs NOT to send what they already have. That’s what I did, sent what they didn’t list plus new pics and documents. To each their own. I’m only trying to help.

I submitted a piece of paper that testifies we have a joint bank account that we use to pay the mortgage and shared expenses. No monthly statement, that's our business how and when we spend our money and I'm not gonna share it with them. 

I sent 2020 taxes because we still haven't filed 2021 by then, so we're filing 2022 now and I'm gonna wait for it to send them.

That explains why you got the RFE.   If you won’t provide them with adequate info to evaluate whether you have a bonafide marriage, they will not be able to make a decision in your favor.

That’s how I knew they lost my docs. So in your RFE did they list the entire list of everything you sent?! Pay attention to that detail, it’s very important. 

 

They didn’t send any bank statements, obviously that is the reason for the RFE.   Commingling of finances/evidence of shared marital expenses is a basic expectation for ROC.

It does sound right because they only sent “a piece of paper” from the bank stating they do have a joint account. But no actual statement. They want to see that the account is actively being used.

I know it sucks but taking whatever USCIS asks of you close to heart is only going to make it more difficult for you. I also don't feel comfortable sharing bank statements but I did anyway because in the end of the day I am the one who needs documents.

 

When I had my I-485 interview, I was 7 months pregnant. An officer asked my husband if he was sure that it's his baby multiple times. Did I feel like ****? Hell yes I did. But I continued answering all the question with a smile on my face because yes, love doesn't matter but the documents do. I'm sorry you got an RFE but it's nearly impossible to go through this process without being stripped off any privacy. Like mandalorians say, "this is the way".

Note : BTW I forgot to mention while talking to interviewer about my I751 application I told her my 751 application is pending for 1 year 3 months now, then the interviewer told me since I filed N400, my I 751 application will jump the line and will be approved sooner. 

This is super cool. Congratulations. I was also eligible to fily my N400 (with I751 still pending) the same month you did, but i filed only in February, so I am three months behind you. it's good to see they are working with a fair speed, at least for N400 cases.

Thank you so much! I hope you have a super speedy process as well.

And yeah I was reading articles about USCIS being working on making Citizenship process faster thats why I thought I will go ahead n apply bccz i dont trust the timeline for I751 at all for LIN processing center. Now I am glad that I did that.

Thank you. I751 process has been disheartening and way too lengthy for most of us, and it's been so annying. Hope my N400 also moves fast like yours.

I really wonder what is going on. It seems that there definitely has been a CONSCIOUS, INTENTIONAL depriority of these cases. With maybe one person working on i-751? I don't know why. Maybe to encourage people to go N-400? Or are workplace shortages all being reallocated to focus elsewhere? I'd say, if you want N-400, definitely go for it.

 

edit: A reminder that I'm only following Washington DC. Other national centers may be rolling along.

Their new cycle time goals are tied to every form under the sun but the I-751, so that likely explains why they've been de-prioritized.

This lines up with the historic processing time data trends (2018-2023).

If I was an officer and my performance was based on those metrics, I'd do the same.

For sure I made a mistake not sending the whole statements, I will.

I also noticed in their letter they don't mention the deed of the house and the mortgage which I sent...so I guess they lost it somewhere...

I'm working on it and keep you posted.
