if Texas keeps adjusting their processing times I am going to scream. Every time it gets close that we can file an inquiry it changes. Now I have to wait until May to file an inquiry

Inquiries don't result in anything most of the times anyways. But yeah, it's a bit frustrating...

when we were filing our k1 paperwork, i had to open an inquiry to get it approved. and what do you know about the time i opened an inquiry it was approved. That was nearly 5 years ago though and timelines were faster.

Did anyone else get an approval this month? I've checked that quite a few cases were approved among 17000, just a few among 18000. My case number is in 21000, and I'm starting to slowly lose hope given that we're entering a holiday season. I've started filling in N-400 application on USCIS website. On one hand, I really want to file before we hit pre-Christmas PTOs, but on the other... Ehh. I'm so torn! :D It looks like wait time for the interview in San Francisco local office has decreased to 5-6 months. I wonder if it makes sense waiting for another 1-2 months for possibly getting a green card.

I've seen RFEs sent to cases in 20000-20500 range, I think, your case might be processed pretty soon, like end mid December - end of January 2023.

Obviously I don't have the crystal ball, but it it it looks that way.

There have been a decent number of approvals and RFEs in the 20xxx range.  I think it's worth waiting at least till Christmas to see if any movement happens

@OldUser @Moe428 I guess I'm just getting impatient and am super ready to get it over with once and for all. I do agree that it makes sense to wait till Christmas. I just can't help but think if my case were to take till the end of January to be processed, for example, my citizenship application could have been 2 months in waiting for the interview notice already.

I totally understand how you feel!

Personally, I'm gonna wait for my green card before applying the N-400 because I read on this forum of people getting stuck again after the naturalization interview because the I-751 wasn't approved yet.

USCIS is a shame.

Oh yeah, when I think of that other possible ocean of misery (sorry not sorry) with not getting lucky to have an officer who can approve I-751 at an N-400 interview, waiting for another 2 months doesn't seem so bad anymore :D Thank you for reminding me of that!

The annoyance of having to deal with the extension letter, especially in cases where the other party is not fully aware of it, is a big reason to prioritize I-751 over N-400, at least for the short term.  And yeah like OldUser mentioned there have been countless cases where IO wasn't able to adjudicate I-751.  It really depends on how much rush you are in to get US citizenship.

Update for WAC filers:

Quite a few approvals today (November 23rd) for cases in 20500-20999 range. I am pleasantly surprised. Some lucky people got a Thanksgiving present from USCIS 😃
