In that case hope you get your extension letter faster 😊

I'm still on the fence whether or not to file for naturalization before the I-751 process is complete, I guess I have a whole year to make up my mind, and should have more information then

I'm planning to apply for the Naturalization next November and as far as I know USCIS will waive the 2 cases together and will have the 10 year card interview a couple days earlier than the Naturalization interview.

Some are saying that a USCIS officer told them that it's better to wait till you get your 10-year green card before applying for citizenship, as it may delay the entire process if you do so. Not sure if that true/correct or not I'm just relaying what I've read on this exact forum/thread, so yes, hopefully. we'll have more information (real-time examples/cases) about this subject before we're actually eligible to apply. Cheers!

Oh and YES, you will get your 24-month extension when you receive the i-797 letter stating that they've received your file and issued a case#

Thanks!!

Yes, I read other things here as well however, on our interview the officer told us that I'll be able to file for the Naturalization while I'm waiting for my ROC to be approved, and I also know people who's case got expedited because they applied for the Naturalization.

Hi everyone! I will be a December filer and I have a question. Those of you who received a text message (or not), did you also receive an email or notification from your USCIS account about your case? Like to know what your case number is if you don’t get a text?

thanks

No, I never received an email.. just a text with my case number and my physical NOA in the mail a couple weeks later.

I received my NOA1 today with a 24 month extension. Everything has gone extremely fast so far - I mailed my packet on Day 2 of my eligibility window, it was received the day after and I got a text confirming receipt 3 days after that. I've added my details to the spreadsheet on the November tab.

Also, as above, I only got a text notification - no email notification.

We had to go through an interview at the embassy for my husband's fiance visa. We then had to go through another interview at the local USCIS office for the green card. I'm hoping they will waive the interview for the 751. I wonder if they process applications differently for those who've already had an initial interview?

We intend on applying for the N-400 citizenship next September. So, I'm curious how that will happen if they end up waiving the interview. Hmmm....

My package was delivered (with corrected 'pay to' information in  money order) on 18th. Got a text update just  now from USCIS that pacakage is received and the case receipt no. Starts with LIN . I am not sure if they will be sending a separate reciept no. For my daughter or not.

Corrected "pay to"?  Uf! I just wrote USCIS. Was it supposed to be something different? Something special?

Most likely your interview will be waived. No, they don’t process it differently. If they feel your evidence is enough, you’ll get a message saying that your card is being produced.
If they do end up waiving the interview, when he files for citizenship he will get an interview+a test. If he passes the test, he’ll have an oath ceremony. Notice that ROC needs to be approved before they approve his citizenship.

First 3 letters of our receipt # are "MSC", which I believe  is "National Benefit Center", but when  I go to the USCIS Processing Times page (https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/), I can't seem to find "MSC" in the pull down menu!!!  Any thoughts? Thanks!

You would likely have a combined interview.  They won't waive anything for the N400.

It must say 'U.S. Department of Homeland Security'.
