That's my logic too. I'm a Sept 2021 filer and I'm getting very close to the official estimate of 27.5 months...I've decided to wait (im)patiently for a little longer.

 

I also considered something else: if it weren't for VisaJourney, there would be no discussion of WoM or N-400 speeding up the process. We have anecdotal evidence. I tell myself that I'm following the official process. After all, no one from USCIS has stated "we won't touch your I-751 until you submit N-400." Not that they would ever say that out loud.

There's similar discussions on Reddit etc.

 

I don't believe N-400 pushes USCIS to decide on I-751 faster in most cases. However, I do believe it speeds up the process for naturalizing overall.

 

E.g. if you submit N-400 after I-751 approval, it may take 6-9 months from then. If you submit N-400 while I-751 is pending, you'll likely get naturalized within 1-3 months after I-751 approval. That's the difference.

Totally agree.   Ours was 18 months to approval without an interview, and still haven’t filed N-400.

I'd like to see this happen. I submitted my N-400 in August this year and one week ago my status was - estimated time 3 months. My I-751 was finally approved a few days ago after 25 months of waiting and now my status for N-400 says 8 months estimated time 😅.

I see what you mean. But if you were to submit N-400 now, I would probably took longer for you to naturalize. You are already in line.

Thanks for the information. I'm thinking of sending a letter to the congressman and ask for help . If you don't mind me asking, do you think this is a good idea? I’m kind of stuck here, my Ukrainian passport expired last month, and because of the war in my country, it takes way longer to get a new one, monthssss, so I’m thinking now if its worth it, to send a letter to the congressman

I haven't sent a letter to a congressman myself, but I've seen people reporting success from time to time. It would not hurt your case for sure. The biggest slow down for N-400 is usually pending I-751. Now that you have it approved, I think your case may move faster in January-Fabruary next year. I wouldn't believe the estimate onlines, they're never accurate. As to renewing Ukrainian passport, I heard they can get extended too? Though it would be somewhat tricky travelling with such extended passport in my opinion. Good luck with your case and I wish you a speedy approval!

Received a RFE on November 2023, sent divorce decree, pictures, lease when we were living together, letters from family, and a letter I wrote myself about everything that happened while being married!!

 

I was approved without interview, The status was updated today that the new card is being produced!! 
 

next step is to apply for naturalization in October this year!! Waiting for the 5 years requirement to be elegible!!

I see the Potomac center is approving applications sent in October 2021 and November 2021.

After 892 days, my spouse's I-751 application was finally approved. No biometrics, no interview, no RFE. Just silence for 2.5 years then approval.

 

He literally just got his second I-551 stamp in the mail 5 days ago (he misplaced his actual card right after we applied so we've been using those for travel). We really weren't planning on getting approved soon. So relieved.

 

He won't be filing for citizenship so this marks the end of our Visa Journey that started back in 2018. I'm grateful to this forum for keeping us sane for all of that time. 🙏🏽

Just checked this past Friday, and we are updated to "New Card is being Produced" as of April 5 2024.

We were "Case Received" on November 12 2021, so however long that is. 2.5 years more or less.

 

It looks like Potomac is moving quickly now. I wasn't expecting anything until August this year. Yall hang in there!
