I am in the process of preparing our ROC packet, which we will be filing next week (earliest date we can file is 10/31 so I am hoping to get it in the mail on Monday, 11/1). I figured I'd go ahead and start the November thread for anyone else who is in the same boat.

As of right now, this is the list of evidence I am including in our packet:

  • Letter from our bank stating the date my husband was added to the account (because our statements only show my name)
  • All statements from that same bank account from the date we were married to present (shows direct deposits from both of our jobs and all marital bills paid from this account)
  • Letter from Discover that shows we opened a joint savings account on July 28, 2020
  • All statements for that joint savings account
  • Documentation that my husband is the beneficiary on my Roth IRA
  • Our apartment leases from 2019, 2020, and 2021 (with both names)
  • Water bills with both of our names
  • Healthcare durable Power of Attorney for each of us, appointing the other
  • Several official letters we have received with both names (such as IRS notices and the letters from the White House about stimulus checks)
  • 2 verification of insurance letters from Progressive that show both of our names as drivers and lists both vehicles
  • Emergency contact list from my work that shows my husband as my emergency contact
  • Screenshot of our Verizon account that shows both names and phone numbers
  • Membership agreement from Planet Fitness that I gifted my husband (shows his name as the member but my name and bank info for payment)
  • Tax transcripts for 2019 and 2020
  • Documentation of 4 vacations we took in 2020 and 2021
  • 8 photos of us ranging from Nov. 2019 to July 2021
  • Joint credit card statements from May 2019 to present
  • Documentation that he is an authorized user on another credit card (his name isn't listed on the statements)

Also we just refinanced his vehicle in both of our names so I will add that documentation in if I get it in hand before I send the packet off.

I do have a couple of questions, if anyone has input.

  1. How many water bills should I include? I have every monthly bill from May 2020 through October 2021, except for 2. I don't know if I should throw them all in or not.
  2. As of now, I have not included some documentation that was provided in our AOS packet (or at the interview). Examples include photos that were already provided and documentation of trips already provided. For more context, we were married in May 2019 and our AOS interview was December 2019.

If anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to let me know. And good luck to anyone that plans to file in November :)

Just stopping in to say hi! I am planning on sending my packet in on November 1st too! 😊

Your list looks great and very comprehensive. I am including some of the documents I submitted at my AOS interview (i.e. a trip itinerary, health insurance cards from the beginning of our marriage, two wedding pictures, one of the same bank statements) into this package, just so that I have some items from the first year of marriage... However the majority of my items are documents/statements that have happened since my AOS interview, or weren't included during the AOS process - especially since we have way more joint items now than we did at the AOS interview.

Since you are already sending in all statements from your bank account and credit cards, I don't see a problem in sending in all of your water bill statements that you have as well - it shouldn't be a problem that there's 2 missing. On the other hand, if you wanted to send quarterly water bills I am sure that would work too.

Best of luck!

I wish all of us the best and that the USCIS may give us favorable decision/response!

I am sending in our IRS Tax Transcripts that we downloaded off of the IRS website. I've heard that these are the preferred method because they are directly from the IRS, and they tend to be less pages.

If I did that, it would cut my packet by well over half. 😀Approximately how many pages should the tax transcripts be for each year?? or how many pages are yours that you are sending for each year??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Thanks for your reply.... one more question. Did you just download and print out the transcripts online via the IRS or did you request transcripts by mail?  Thanks again

Just downloaded and printed them online via IRS! We did this for our K1 and AOS process too, and it worked just fine ☺️

Best of luck!

I think I will throw in a couple of wedding photos and documentation of a couple of the trips we took in 2019 even though they (should) already have that info. Also I am going to send all of the water bills - it definitely can't hurt and it doesn't add much bulk to the packet.

Unfortunately I won't be getting my packet in the mail today as planned, but it should definitely be done by Wednesday.

Good luck to you!

I am a little confused on if certain things need to be sent. For example, it seems like some people send a copy of the marriage certificate and some don't, and some people send a copy of the U.S. citizen's ID (passport and/or license). Are any of these things actually required? And if not, any feedback about sending these things vs. not sending?

Btw I know a lot of people send copies of both driver's licenses to show the shared address so I am not referring to that instance - more wondering if the U.S. spouse needs to send any documents regarding identity.

I am also under the assumption that birth certificates are only required for any children, not for either spouse.

As of right now, the only identifying document we have in our packet is the copy of the green card.

I was confused why people were including things like a copy of the U.S. citizens passport as well - I researched it, and for the life of me could not find anything that said it was required.

I didn't send my U.S. spouse's passport, but I did send a photocopy of both our driver's license (for additional proof of residing at the same house) and I included a photocopy of our marriage certificate just for the sake of doing so - however, neither of these things were mentioned as a mandatory thing to submit from USCIS. I also didn't include either of our birth certificates.

I think some people include all of those things because at earlier points they were required to do so (i.e. during K1 & AOS) so they just stick it in their pile of evidence for ROC as well.

That's what I figured. I am also going to include a copy of the marriage certificate but nothing else that isn't required. I appreciate your input :)
