InfoPass Appointment walk-in. Has anyone tried this recently (Bay Area, CA)?

Hi!

I would like to hear from previous experiences (preferably from 2021) or advice about walking in an ASC or USCIS office, so I can receive a stamp on my passport.

My greencard and 18-month extension letter are expired (2020-Mar-28 and 2021-Sep-28, respectively), and I have intl. travel plans. My departure date would be Nov. 25th so I’m trying to get the stamp as soon as possible.

I have already called the USCIS number, the agent checked my info (since every document I have is expired and my trip is in less than 30 days), I was placed in ‘urgent’ queue to receive a call from a Tier 2 agent. I called USCIS Wed. 27th, and the 2nd call should happen within the next 72 hours but nothing yet.

My last hope would be this Monday. So if I don’t get the call, I’d like to try to show up at their offices. Has anyone done this successfully in NorCal/Bay Area? Or any other areas? Any tip or advice are welcome.

I’m planning to print my itinerary confirmation email (recommended by the Tier 1 agent too), the email received on Wed. that confirms I was placed in urgent queue., and bring the rest of documents that proves that I do need the stamp.

TIA

Good luck.  I doubt they will accept a walk in for an ADIT stamp.  You have to make an emergency appointment.  and you have to have the appointment letter.

Oh I didn’t know the Tier 2 would book it * and * send a letter too. No wonder a walk-in seemed to have a slim chance. 😞

For us, the agent who called us back, booked the appoint, and sent me a link to download the appointment letter which they instructed us to bring and show them.  We were able to get the stamp in my wife's passport and exit the office the very next morning.   Good luck.

So they booked your appointment for the very next day? That’s great! Can I ask how long ago this was?

Just posting progress, in case someone gets to read this. Or, if your search lands you here.

Tier 2 didn’t call. Today Tuesday at 7:26 am PST, I called Tier 1 again. They submitted another ‘urgent’ callback request.

The only comment I was provided was ‘It looks like the Tier 2 can meet the 72 hours timeframe.’ 😞

I wish they had reprinted the letter to give us all other 18-months.

Finally today they called. There we no appointments in San Jose or SF. But I got to pick between Fresno or Sacramento.

Per the Tier 2’s advice I should bring anything to prove my emergency, bcs I’m going somewhere outside my jurisdiction.

The end of the saga - LOL

There was a minor issue that really stressed me out. Yes, the ADIT appt. was booked and confirmed but the link I received to download the appointment letter (that contains the barcode) would not work. I tried different combinations of my 1st name and last names. Capitalized variations, using a dash, etc. but nothing.

I called Tier 1 again (3rd call at this point). They could not fw the letter or really help me much beyond submitting ‘notes.’ And also they provided me a ‘service request’ number to identify the notes. That was it, I didn’t have much to print or prepare myself; I felt defeated.

Today, I went to the USCIS office and I got the stamp. The front office lady said the the ‘800 number people are sending the wrong links or links that don’t work,’ so she’s been printing all letters there as you check in. From there, I went to the lobby to wait for my number to be called.

I received the stamp which is valid for 1 year (until 2022). We’ll see if I’ll end up needing a new one 🙄😂
