Next Steps for K1 visa at the Cairo Embassy

Hello everyone,

 

Our petition for the K-1 Visa has left the NVC and is now with the US embassy in Cairo. I keep checking the application status on the CEAC website and this is what it has looked like for the past month (see attached picture). It indicates that the last update was yesterday (October 28th), however the information does not seem to have changed. 
 

I am not sure how to move forward at this point. Should I reach out to the embassy? Or Should I wait for them to send me Packet 3? Also for those who have received a Packet 3 - is it sent through the post as a physical package or is it sent via e-mail? I assume that either way it would be sent to the beneficiary, correct?

The status will be "Ready" until your interview.

 

If you have the case number from the NVC, you can use it to fill out the DS-160. 

 

You may also be abled to pay the MRV fee and schedule your medical and interview, but procedures on this is dependent on the embassy.  For Cairo, you may need to wait until the Packet 3.

 

  I have not known anyone who received the packet by physical mail - it has always been email.  Even though it is labeled "packet", it is just a message which tells you to complete the DS-160 and schedule the interview and lists all the documents you need to bring to the interview.

how long did it take to show the status of ready at the NVC? My fiancé is Egyptian too and we are going thru the K1 Visa process.
