L1 is dual intent

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Hello,

If my company in Canada applies for a L visa for me to work in the United States will this invalidate my pending I-130 (approved) just waiting for it to be current on visa bulletin (family based petition?

USCIS cannot cancel an I-130 merely because you have applied for some kind of visa.

With some types of visas, having the I-130 can cause issues with that visa because there is an issue of immigrant intent. However, it doesn't happen the other way around. That is, applying for a visa will not cause issues with the I-130.

And as others have pointed out, the L visa type allows dual intent anyway. That means the I-130 will not cause issues with the L visa.
