SLMC called 4th week of Sputum testing

My fiance had sputum testing Oct 4,5,6. With a return date of Dec 6th. They just called today to tell her to come back Nov 4th for pulmonary evaluation. I know that an early phone call is usually a bad one... does this surely mean she is positive for TB or what are the other possibilities as to this situation?

Are you referring to St. Luke's, the authorized clinic for the US embassy in Manila, or to another medical center in another country? Each embassy handles applicant medicals slightly differently. Depending on your answer, I can move your post to the appropriate regional forum for country-specific answers.

OK, thanks. This is a common issue for Philippine applicants. I've moved your post to the Philippines regional forum so that you can get feedback from members who have gone through sputum testing recently.

Sorry yes, St. Lukes in Manila for K-1 fiance visa

This is an old thread, but the process will not be entirely different.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

I can't tell you anything for certain but, I've never heard of anyone getting the call this early in the sputum sample process and it not being a positive TB diagnosis. Sorry I can't give you a more reassuring answer. This also happened to my fiancé - she received an early call from them in the middle of her 6th week of waiting.
