My husband's interview was on 11/9, so the case updated that day. Then it updated 11/17, 11/19, 12/17, and finally 12/23.

Your husband has  had quite a few updates. My interview was 11/02. The only real update I had was on 11/04 when the consulate received the medical report and on 12/30. The other 2 updates  were when they responded to my emails. Hoping we all here something soon!

I just dropped off my passport via Canada Post. Now let’s see what the turn time around is for them to hopefully stamp my visa again.

Congrats, felicitaciones, mazel tov! Why did they stamp it and then cancel it previously?

Thanks!!

If I knew I wouldn’t be here in this thread…

Visa was physically issued in my passport and then stamped with “CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE “ onto the newly minted Visa then sent back to me. Someone decided to overturn my approval  and place me in AP.

That is really messed up man. I can't even understand how that could happen. But it looks like you are on your way again, let's keep the hope alive.

Hopefully everyone that’s stuck in AP gets their Visa’s issued soon.

Good Morning.  Question for @BatmanFlow @GraceFace33 @DrJanko10 @dude12345 @Rosinasaur

All of you are unfortunately approaching the expiry of your medical, and i believe @GraceFace33 yours already has.  Have any of you inquired about what happens next if you are not approved before expiration?  I know we have to repeat medicals, but have any of you been told you can just go and get your medicals done again in preparation for the expiry?  I am getting extremely anxious that we will run out of time before we are able to sell our primary residence without major tax implications (leaving the country before the sale/close of the property).  This is making anything impossible to plan and I don't sleep anymore.  We are planning to call the consulate to try and ask this question of a real live person, but thought I would ask the group first to see if you had any information.

Thank you.

I have seen some cases in that situation, you must wait until they conclude the AP and then they say you need to bring a new medical, they give you a letter required by the medical panel to do the exams and wait again.

Sorry, you ask then directly.

I will cry if they make us do the medical again and then we are back in Ap.

my stepdad had to do sputum test because his X-ray was not clear. That was $1200 and takes 2 months for results to come. So for him they just got the results in January 5, interview October 4. So I don’t know when they start the 6 months count. The day they got everything from doctors. Or the day we went to the doctor, which was in late September. Cause we can’t do another $1200 + wait 2 months for sputum tests.

I hate this. Why do they make legal immigration so hard.

to answer your question, I’m gonna keep emailing them every week as the four month passes

Hello, thanks for your sharing your timeline! I really hope that you guys will get approved next week. They tend to ship passports out on Fridays, so if you're in that batch, you should find out sometime mid week. Hoping the same for @DrJanko10!

Thank you for your message, and late Happy Holidays everyone! We have still not received an approval notice or any significant update.

@Federico is right, if it's been more than 6mo+, you can't redo the medical until they approve your AP. They'll send you a notice for that. It really sucks. Also, Montreal cannot be reached by phone 😭 they've disable that option for a long time now.

Both of you should reach out to Montreal with the public inquiry form. They reply much faster to these inquiries, especially if they are specific. @BatmanFlow I think they will definitely clarify the date of your medical, and won't give you a generic reply. Here is the link to the form: https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/public-inquiry-form/

Thank you @Danii I submitted an inquiry and I have prepped all my letters and documents for my 2 senators and 1 congress person which I will send at the 6 week mark (on the 26th) as the CO told me this should be resolved in 3-4 weeks.

Appreciate your help and have a great weekend.
