Anybody know what the response time is from Montreal consulate when sending either email or public inquiry form for immigrant visa?    Which one is the better option? I sent an email last week an have yet to hear back.  Do they even respond?

I've gotten a response within one hour (passport related) to two weeks (general inquiry on my file).

Response time is one metric we could discuss, however, what about the “response rate”? Lol. Mine is maybe 1 in 3 or 4.

lmao, does their auto-respond count as a response?

One thing they were effective at was returning my passport which I am grateful for.

Amen to that. When they do it right, they rightly should get praise.

Coincidentally, I saw a “last updated on” change to May 4. Wonder what that’s about? Hopefully good news coming sometime soon…

Keeping fingers crossed for you. Good news coming soon for sure

Yes that is great to hear ice-qube had some movement! I have had no update since Mar 21 when they replied to my question if they had received my medical. So my case was saying REFUSED with last update Mar 21 but then yeasterday it said something like CASE AT NVC and that I should log into my nvc account for further instructions. So I was confused as to what exactly that meant. And now this morning its back to saying REFUSED with last update Mar 21. Anyone seen something like this? Just a glitch in the system?

Yah same here. I got hopeful that maybe we will receive something but nope!

Yeah, for what it is worth, nothing further since May 4 for me. Black hole yet again.

It has become truly and indefensibly outrageous, this service time. It is not within a realm of reasonable anymore. So much impotent frustration with it. And when I was visiting Miami, several of my wife’s family members all seemed to have opinions about it that seem to lean towards an insinuation that I am just not trying hard enough…it is very irritating. You know, when other people think they know more than you about your own situation, etc. Just puts salt in the wound.

Yes, I completely agree. And I definitely can feel for you about others opinions. Unless you are in this position, nobody will know how it feels...😔

We have just finished up paperwork for a WOM, so hopefully we will hear news soon, but it is still so nerve wracking, and very expensive. I hope your paperwork comes through soon, you deserve to be with your wife, as do we all deserve to be with our families. It is an extremely hard and emotional/mental process, hang in there @ice-qube, the day will come, hopefully sooner than later 🤞
