Here we are, another week down into the black hole. If there is an intention to resolve these cases, I do not see it. I cannot think of any bureaucratic justification for why it would take greater than 6 months to vet anyone for security after having vetted them several times at previous stages. I just cannot. This just feels deliberate.

It depends why you were issued 221G and what the document was that was missing.

For a simple document such as birth certificate or something like that, we have seen it taking anywhere from a week to 3 months. But could take longer if it is something complicated.

Because of the length of time it is taking. That is an absurd time frame after years of waiting, more than six months? no.

I think you should email them and tell them you will file a Mandamus in 30 days. This is getting crazy.

I feel you, ice-qube. At this point, my medical has also expired. They haven't contacted me about a second medical or any update on CEAC since December. Thinking of you and sending good vibes. Haven't been on here much since we've changed course of what we're doing immigration wise in my case, but I will keep peeping in to see you get through! Stay strong!

I started this process in February of 2020 and we definitely did not think we would still be apart. I filed IR1 as we have been married for almost 14 years and have 2 children together. We were never aware of the AOS at the beginning of the process and I am not willing to jeopardize my status. We just want to get back to normal with our family all together again. This definitely taken a toll on us, we miss Dad/Hubby so much!

Our medicals were done in Nov 2021 prior to our interview, they were sent and received by the embassy. They will be expiring May 30th now, and from what I have read in this forum, we then must wait for our visas to be issued..then we have to rebook a second medical..??

I think, once they receive clearance of DS5535, Montreal asks you to redo your medicals, and then issue the visas.

Logistically, since you need your passport back to do the medicals, so I think, they will send it back to you and then you have to send the passports back again to the consulate for visa issuance…
