DS5535 limbo seems painfully similar to the covid shutdown limbo we went through with a canceled and eventually 6-mos-later rescheduled interview... you're not alone in the experience of purgatory!

Yep it is true. I am just especially weary after 2 years and 10 months of waiting. Like... this is not a way to have a good marriage.

where do you see when they issue them or the last time one was issued.

And, does any know why the had to go through this process? is it based on the country you are coming from? your job? etc?

I am just counting on this forum to see when cases have been issued, there is a spreadsheet on this forum also through someone also, but I can't remember who...and if there is a way to check elsewhere, I am unaware.

I have no idea why one is given the ds- 5535, there seems to be no pattern, except that there are alot of people getting them recently. The VO told me at my interview on dec 3rd that everything looked great, and that it should be fairly quick since we are family-based, then I was sent an email with the ds-5535 questions.....and i'm currently on day 137 of AP..... 😔

If there are any patterns, I don't fit the ones proposed. I was born in Canada, my parents were born in Canada, I have never been to any countries that are usually listed as "countries of concern", and I have no criminal record nor any arrests. My job is arguably in technology, but it's just documentation, not one that is listed on any discussions of this subject (engineers, infosec, etc). I am not an engineer nor a developer. So, your mileage may vary...

The last time we saw one issued was early March. It's been over a month!

This is very well put, and also not an experience I would wish on my worst enemy. The immigration limbo when there are no timelines is a beast of it's own and it did a number on my mental health.

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.
