At this point I’m giving up hope and looks like second medical will need to happen

It definitely looks like it. I am very disappointed with all this. And if it were just the matter of paying for the second medical and having it all done and no further waiting, ok... but we all know that isn't what is going to happen.

You'll see someone's signature under their comment. If you're on the mobile version of the website, that's probably why you can't see it. Try changing to the desktop version, and you'll see something under my comment that says "list of all AP cases" which is the spreadsheet

Thank you 🙏

My goodness, I came here to read some good news. What the heck is going on at HQ?

Lol. They are like Homer Simpson at the power plant, apparently.

CO3 is like the bobbing bird Homer used to push the Y key over and over and over so he could go to Moe's.  Same old ctrl+c, ctrl+p, over and over.

Lol, still no updates. I think they are going for a minimum 6 months in AP, easy. To be determined, but apparently this seems to be their trajectory! 140 days of AP so far with 3 days to go on medical (we know that will add at least a month). So maybe I should project my approval as some time into 2023?

Fingers crossed, hope it is not that long. I am also seeing 2nd medical in my horizon. Did the 2nd medical issues with Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas get resolved?

What happens if your Visa is approved consequently when your medical just expired? Can you cross the Port of Entry with the issued Visa even if your medical expired, or must both the medical and Visa be current and updated?

No way to know until you get your visa. The last day you will able to cross will be written in there as the expiry.

Edit: if it's issued/sent to you after medical expiry, you'll probably be asked to redo it before crossing

So basically if you have your Visa in hand but your medical expired by the time the Visa was sent to you, you will have to wait for the Consulate to receive your new medical even if you already have your Visa? That would be a weird situation to be in.

Yes weird, but almost certainly the reality if that is the scenario.

I think they wouldn't even send it over if your medical is expired. If it's close to expiry... I'm not sure what would happen 🤔

Ya I think it is an unlikely, although not impossible scenario.

So I got an email back from the consulate. They actually changed it ever so slightly. I added the bolding.

"Good Afternoon,

Thank you for contacting us.
Your case is currently still under administrative processing. As soon as the administrative processing is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps if anything else is needed to complete processing the case. While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the State Department are aware of your concerns and will contact you as soon as the processing is complete.
We hope that this information is helpful in replying to your inquiry.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Regards,

OP03

Consular Correspondence Unit | Immigrant Visa

U.S. Consulate General

Montreal, Canada:"

Last time they sent it, the first sentence was just "Your case is currently under administrative processing." I think they actually read my email this time! I also think this means that the congresswoman's office was just completely misinformed and confused when they said previously that "the consulate thought you already got your visa". The congresswoman's office told us today that they were going to put us directly in contact with their "immigration liaison" within 48 hours, so let's see how that goes.
