Ultimately, this all makes little difference. Our emails and their order, sequence etc, are not why we are stuck in this garbage. And *why* are we? I would love to know. But it ain't because we didn't email inquiries in the right way.

ARe you replying to the same email each time is that what you mean by same thread? If so I would start a new message with what you wrote above. It is just sickening that they are doing this stuff. I have not seen anyone mentioned thisDS5535 as often as Montreal. 

I don't understand why Montreal has to be so Ralph Wiggum "special".  Every bloody time something "new" comes along, they employ it in an extravagantly poor manner which just shows more and more incompetence.

So I was reviewing our spreadsheet today. These are the number of people on AP/medical approved each month from our VJ records.

 

December 2021: 3

January 2022: 11 

February 2022: 4 

March 2022: 1*

 

We still have two weeks to go in March but this seems like a large drop off. I also haven't seen anyone appoved on FB recently. What could possibly be going on? Most of us are now going into 100+ days in AP.

only thing i can think of is the agencies doing the background checks being backlogged due to Ukraine conflict

Honestly? I don't think so. Maybe it will make it worse now, but the delays have been before the conflict started, and we were already far into the queue, if there is one.

hmm maybe, the other theory i had in my case was that since my mom grew up in india, they are now doing extensive checks for india and thats' taking time? who knows, all i know is that its just ridiculous at this time

Well if that is explanatory for you, what about me? My parents were born in Canada and so was I... so I can't use the "faraway country" explanation on my case...

It doesn't make sense for anyone in Canada to be in AP for more than 60 days which is what the department of state estimates how long it should take. It seems almost all of us are now at 100+ days. 

 

The only thing that I can think of is that there are multiple agencies doing this background check and there must be one that is delaying everything.

Ya I doubt it's the emails. I was just asking about it and hoping maybe it would land in another person's inbox. There is not a single reason for the long delays they are putting you all through. They can't tell you it's because country X is not forthcoming with the checks. Canada shares almost everything with them so it's all bolony.

You'll see someone's signature under their comment. If you're on the mobile version of the website, that's probably why you can't see it. Try changing to the desktop version, and you'll see something under my comment that says "list of all AP cases" which is the spreadsheet

if anyone is holding their breathe on congressperson doing something, mine just replied

 

"In response to my inquiry on your behalf, the U.S. Department of State contacted my office regarding the immigrant visa petition filed on behalf of Ms. Name.

 

The Congressional Liaison for the State Department explained that Ms. Last name case is currently under administrative processing. As soon as this processing is complete, the Visa Unit will advise the applicant of the next steps if anything else is needed to complete processing of the case. Unfortunately there is no set timeframe as to when process will be completed and this processing cannot be expedited or waived. My office will place a follow up inquiry on May 9, 2022 and will keep you informed.

 

I am sorry this information is no more favorable. I will be back in touch with you once additional information is received.
