really is a black hole with no information on what is happening, where its stuck or anything. just so disheartening and infuriating

And that is how I feel they are treating me. Like someone shady or something, and we will just let him rot there. No reason given..

For those who have flown to the USA while your visa is refused, did you have to declare the refusal with customs on their questionnaire? I got my passport returned and I’m flying to the states for a visit next week. Bit worried about customs.

So I flew last week to Florida, and immigration officer at Toronto was friendly, he asked me where I worked ,why I am going to states and for my return ticket. I showed him my job letter, return ticket and letter from mother in laws hospital. I fly back to Toronto on Sunday. It has been exactly 3 months after interviewing and still no updates from Montreal!
My husband is going to contact his Florida senator so let’s see what’s happen!  In the mean time staying positive and upbeat! And thankful / grateful to all of you for your support! Stay blessed stay positive!

Did you declare with customs that you’ve been refused a US visa?

Yes I volunteered the information to the the officer that I had my interview in Montreal for immigrant visa and had submitted Ds5535 and that my case  is in administrative processing.
The officer was helpful and advised not to overstay.

i wouldnt say you have been refused for the visa, more so you are in additional administrative processing currently. The border agent might take refused as being denied, which is not true.

USCIS

January 8th 2014 - NOA1

July 10th 2014 - NOA2

NVC

July 17th 2014 - Case shipped to NVC

July 30th 2014 - Case received by NVC

August 13th 2014 - Case number and IIN received by email

August 13th 2014 - DS-261 Form Completed

August 14th 2014 - AOS Fees Invoiced and Paid

September 17th 2014 - IV Fees Invoiced and Paid

September 19th 2014 - DS260 Completed

October 6th 2014 - AOS and IV Packages Received

November 28th 2014 - AOS and IV Checklist (4 items in total. 3 for documents they lost. Called on December 9 and a rep said no checklist for IV....go figure)

December 8th 2014 - Checklist scan date.

December 30th 2014 - Case Compl........NOT. So after not having an interview date yet, I called again on Jan 30th and apparently its in final review with a supervisor.

February 6th 2015 - Case Complete: Supervisor called from NVC to confirm everything has been completed now.

March 27 2015 - Interview Date

March 27 2015 - Approved!

Yes I did say that my immigrant visa was refused because they needed more information i.e Ds5535 and so it is now in administrative process.

Was there a question you said yes to in the declaration kiosk thing?

I left to the US and did not do a customs form - Toronto Pearson has US customs. I told the border officer that my husband sponsored me and it is still processing under administrative processing. There were no follow-up questions. The goal is to prove Canadian ties and that you will not overstay. Basically answer the questions they ask honestly and your intent and that you will return back to Canada.

But did they *ask* about this?

But why did you offer this information? Were you asked a question about it?

I went to the counter and said hi and then I gave him my passport and said I just want to declare that my immigration visa is in administrative processing. He did not ask me I volunteered my self. He then asked why I am going? Where I work, then I gave him further details.  How much luggage I have so on.

Yes, the officer asked "who is sponsoring who?" and "when did you file for spousal sponsorship?"

Just checked the CEAC website and my DS-260 application stated it was "re-opened" with an expiration date application to be completed by March 30th, 2022-- what does this mean? Has anyone experienced this? (My interview has been over a year already)
