Had my interview on Monday, passed the exam, but the officer marked the checkbox that said Decision cannot be made.

A day later, i got an email With an update "we have taken an action on your case" but when i login, i dont see any new action items or updates..

i am starting to get nervous, did anyone go through this? How long before they make a decision?

thanks!!

Do you have a pending I-751? If so - did you have a combo interview?

The reason I'm asking is because if you had a pending I-751 - it needs to be approved before your N400. I received a 'Decision Cannot Be Made At This Time' notice after my N400 because my I-751 was still pending.

But if you don't have a pending I-751 this is irrelevant to you, of course.

Really common these days, there is an on-going thread on exactly this topic, check it out (below):

Did they tell you they had to review your File?  if so, it might take a while, I have been waiting for more than 6 months, no decision yet.

Yeah, unfortunately I became an expert on this, reading and reading... That said, some cases resolves in a few days or weeks.  Some others take months, even years in some cases.  It is still early for you, don't lose hope.

There are many reasons why cases get delayed, one of the common ones is when the Officer says "I have to review your A-file", and apparently those files seem to be locked at the Federal Records Centers (which are still operating under reduced capacity due to COVID).
