I honestly opened the link you provided fully prepared to evaluate the methodology, look at the statistical analysis, check the hypothesis. But this research was done so poorly that I could not help but go check this person's biography. So yes, I checked the messenger - of course I did and gosh I'm glad I did! 

 

And no, it is way more than accounting error that got him convicted. It is the pattern of behaviour. 

He falsified data many times in his previous works, and his papers were rejected (not accepted to publication) and retracted (withdrawn from publication) because of him lying many times, again and again. It's a pattern. 

 

Re: his PhD, if you follow the comments section in the RetractionWatch article from 2018, this Fleming guy himself came in the comments section to argue with people. But he never answered the simplest question "where did you get your PhD from?". He got MD and JD (from an online school) - that was verified, but he also claims to have a PhD which he could not say where from.

So how many lies have we seen from Fauci and Collins?  Does this change their reputation in the research community, or are political lies different?

Literally everything Fraudci has said about covid has been proven to be a total lie. One of the biggest lies is when he said 99% of people hospitalized for covid were unvaccinated. Or when he predicted millions would die in the US from covid. Or how about 2 weeks to flatten the curve. I could go on. One lie that by all rights should put him in prison on felony charges is when he lied to Congress about gain of function research. I can name people who had their house swat teamed at a cost of millions of dollars on the mere accusation that they lied to Congress.

It goes to the comment you made.  A lot of folks put a lot of faith in what Dr. Fauci particularly says and yet he has a long history of lying for whatever reason.  If we cannot believe the person in the OP, how can we, or a researcher believe someone like Dr. Fauci?

It is relevant for multiple reasons. First of all Fauci is the most prominent person arguing against the topic of this post. Second I have seen you defend some pretty horrible things that Fauci has done (including torturing dogs) while attacking doctor Fleming for something that isn't even a fraction as bad as some of the stuff Fauci has been involved in. I guess personal attacks are okay against someone who disagrees with your viewpoint but are not okay against someone who aligns with your opinion.
