Yes, stress can and does often bring about higher than normal blood sugars. As I have stated before, I was borderline diabetic for most of my late teens until my thirties. I kept it in control with diet and excercise. With my first pregancy I developed gestational diabeties, the day after I delievered, my levels were almost within normal ranges. However, with my second pregnancy, I became a fullblown diabetic, and also what is termed as a "brittle" diabetic. This simply means that my blood sugar levels are nearly impossible to control. The insulin dose that I take today may or may not work for me tomorrow. Unusually high or abnormally low sugars could result, even with the same dose of insulin, and the same diet control and exercise habits.

There is a test that can determine if your pancreas is actually producing insulin, and a medication that can stimulate the natural production of insulin from your own pancreas. I believe the medication is named Actos. Caution, one of the side effects is increased fertility. LOL

Diabeties is a silent killer and crippler. Many medical conditions can arise from being diabetic, increased chances of heart attacks for women, retinapathy, neuropathy, increased risks of infection and failure to heal properly after surgeries. Even sexual dysfunction can be a side effect. It certainly is not a disease to be taken lightly. I would advise that you have your doctor run a regular Hemoglobin A1C, this will give you an idea exactly where you stand in controling your diabeties.

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!
