Hi guys! I'm new here. I just wanted to share my experience and hoping to hear from others who's going through a similar process with me. We hired an attorney for I-130 ( I'm a spouse of a US citizen) and i601-A Provisional Unlawful Presence and here's my timeline so far:

1)  Submitted the I-130 on May 26,2021

2)  Received receipt on June 10,2021

3)  Approval received on July 11,2021, only 31 days after the receipt notice! Service center was Nebraska office and during the application the time frame for approval was 3-7 months so we just got super lucky that it got approved so fast, and we did not request expedited service.

SECOND PART IS THE WAIVER:

1) Submitted the I-601A Waiver on October 6,2021

2) Receipt date October 11,2021, Field office is at Potomac Service Center (estimated approval time is about 29 to 36 months) ------(UPDATES TO FOLLOW)-------

PLEASE if you're a 2018,2019,2020 I-601a filer, I would like to ask if you could share your experiences too like when did you submit the i-601a waiver, biometric appt, and how long it took to get your i-601a approval. It's very stressful and very uncertain and I wish it won't take years for me but I know we all need to wait in line and trust the process but if you guys could share some insight I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks so much!! :)

UPDATE: I just got my biometric appointment notice for Dec. 29th!

Hi we submitted our I 601- A waiver on Dec 20,2019 and my husband had his fingerprints done on Jan 30,2020 We are still awaiting for our waiver to be approved and we are in the Nebraska Office..

Yeah I know, I joined this huge support group in Facebook and that's when I realized everything is super delayed. The Nebraska processing center recently moved back with their priority dates and it's now 20.5-26.5 month!!! Meanwhile Potomac is around 209.5-38 months!! It's disheartening how slow the process is but the way I think about it is one day time will come for the approval, so for the meantime I just want to enjoy life and not worry too much. In Mexico after the waiver is approved you have to wait 2 years to get the consular appointment. It's crazy!!

Thanks! I know it's just the beginning but atleast this is done. I'm expecting 2-3 years before I get an approval. Let me know when you get your biometrics appointment because I'm really curious how's the processing is after the 2020 covid lockdown and all that stuff

Yeah, I joined this fb support group and everything seems so slow because of covid last year. Even Nebraska is taking a long time but I have seen their current approvals for Nebraska is around 22-26 months. Meanwhile Potomac is taking atleast 30-34 months to get an approval 😭

Couldnt help but stalk your page and realized your husband is from Honduras! My husband submitted is 601a waiver in October 2020 and got his waiver done almost a yesr later in August 2021. We were hoping he was gonna get approved quick because his I-130 was approved in less than three months. We are also in the Nebraska Office.

I haven't any interview waivers for i-601A. All of the people who got approved on the Fb support group had to go to their home country and take the interview. The current date of approval for Nebraska is around 22-26 months, meanwhile in Potomac is 32-36 months they're reviewing May 2019 receipts.

This is new and is start now in 2022 all lawyers it’s saying they gonna waive the interview because of the backlogs from 2020 and i think this will help some 601a cases

Waiver of consulate interviews only applies to RENEWAL of certain NON-IMMIGRANT visas.  Does not apply to immigrant visa interviews, with or without I-601A.
