How to bring sister on student visa (split)

Hello folks

 

i hope you are all doing well and that everyone will have a good news regarding his/her application with uscis

 

 I have a question for you 

 

I am a permanent green card holder and I d like to bring my sister into USA on student visa…..which are the steps ?

If you want to bring her on a student visa (as opposed to live. work here or getting a greencard), then most of it is up to her.  You can offer to house her and even pay tuition fees, but she needs to apply to colleges and get in, and then apply for an F1 student visa.  Be aware that on a student visa, she cannot work or only very little (the usual restriction is maximum 20 hour, on campus only).

It depends on whether it's college or high school. 

 

College, she has to apply first. The university will send her papers for a student visa and you are not supposed to do much but maybe sponsor her financially (that can be a LOT of money).

Oh, good point, I just assumed OP meant college. OP, can you clarify?
