I am a US citizen living with my husband in Uganda. I have been in Uganda for 6 months now. I wanted to stay here but due to the recent acts of terrorism we are wanting to leave. Is this a justifiable reason for DCF? Also I would be using a joint sponsor due to the fact that I have no US income. Which form would the joint sponsor fill out and would I also be required to fill out one as well despite not having income?

I would contact the Consulate and request to file directly.  As the primary sponsor, you must submit an I-864 with supporting evidence.  Your well-qualified joint sponsor must also submit an I-864 with supporting evidence.

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You do need to have the US residency and Kenya is for temporary living 

  1. The sponsoring spouse can prove that they are temporarily living in — not just visiting — a country other than the United States.

and u meet the requirement of personal safety
