None that I am aware of. I do however, sometimes have to bargain for my time online with him. He has a cousin that recently came to the US, and sometimes he and I are online at the same time. So, my time with him is divided with the cousin.

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

everywhere we went women would stare at us. my fiance is extremely tall (and also very handsome) so naturally women check him out a lot. and perhaps wonder why he was with a western looking woman.

i've personally PMed you some of the other stories! lol

yes and it is big drama. Spreading rumors in order to make me ahve bad thoughts about him (while we were dated, it caused us to break up). I don't know why people would do such things, but one of my friends put it in perspective and just said some people just don't want to see another person get something good if they think that person does not deserve it. (for whatever reason they migh tthink that).

And speaking of jealousy....have you experienced any jealousy from your SO's fellow countrymen or women? LOL!

Oh, absolutely. And, I can understand Patois, so I did know what they were saying about me.

And, not only in Jamaica; but, here in the U.S. as well.

Sad, really. Why can't we all just get along?

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Well I don't speak Arabic and God only knows what everyone was saying, I kept telling Hasan that they are saying here is the stupid American, cos that is how I felt, especially when I was at the salon before my wedding party, I was there 5 hours and thought I would die as they took up until the last minute to have me finished. The only thing I could understand was Americian, yeah I wanted so bad to call Hasan and say pick me up after 1 hour but I stuck it out. I have to say I was really happy with the outcome but felt like I was being talked about really bad, everyone that came in they I could here Americian....

When we where out I would get many stares and hear talking but Hasan would just smile and hold my hand and keep walking, I am sure if something bad was said he would of corrected it. Because of the shopping they would think I was very rich, want to charge more because i was American when we went siteseeing and shopping. Hasan would say she is my wife and they would go back to the Jordanian cost or he would yell and say things I dont' know but it didn't sound nice and then we would just move on to the next shop.

In the net cafe where I was doing the Immigation Papers the young men from Iraq would talk to me and I would show them sites that showed what California looked like and they would say how beautiful it was and more envious. I still talk to them and send them photos and they love it. They where they only ones I could talk with since they could speak English and I would spend lots of time in the net room when Hasan was working and that was just down on the bottom floor of the hotel. See I would not go out of the hotel, even to the store right next door. If i wanted something I would call and order it to my room.

I can soooo relate! Everytime I was there the men would drool like babies, most of the women were curious, but the 20 something women would give me the most evil look! My friend I met there from the UK saw it too. I finally told my husband about it, and he said that he had never even seen them do it. Well finally he did! We both laughed so hard. I just chalked it up to jealousy, who cares what they think or how they look at me.

I never had any problems that I noticed. Not even really any strange looks. A lot of people thought I was Moroccan, which makes NO sense to me because I don't dress even remotely like any Moroccan woman I saw. I definitely have coloring that could be Moroccan, but my clothes scream American for sure.

I've been wondering a lot about this jealousy thing. The people who are getting under my skin right now are married. I can understand single people getting jealous. but other married people???? What is wrong with them? Are they in desperate need of some more loving in their own relationship that they have to get all worked up about someone else's? lol

It was odd for me in Australia because although they speak English, they all could tell that I was American. I didn't get treated badly, but the difference in culture was pretty amazing. I was lucky that Loke was around me all the time to explain things to me lol. If his dad would have been in charge, I would have been stuck watching a five day never ending Cricket game lol

Older women were generally nice to me when they thought I was French or German. Upon learning that I am American, the situation changes. The conversation usually turns into arabic with the only intelligible words being George Bush.

Younger women do not like me and make that very clear.

Lol, so you've had those moments before too, when somebody ticks you off and you want to get all ghetto on them..... and then you remember that you're wearing hijab. :innocent:

I'm always joking with women at work when something or someone is irritating me, "Don't make me take this scarf off!"
