It's all in the title.

Has anyone done this?

My beneficiary is in The Philippines, and her landlord just informed her that she will have to move out!

We're really not supposed to do this, but I don't think we have a choice!

Enter the new address on the DS-160 form that the beneficiary should submit after CEAC case status turns "Ready".

My beneficiary has not received her Visa Application yet. I looked into filing AR-11, but that only handles U.S. addresses, and she's still in Philippines.

How do we change address if I already filed the I-129F but she hasn't received any documents yet? The address on the I-129F is outdated now.

You do not need to change it right now. They don’t care if she moved or not. They do not physically mail anything to the beneficiary. Down the line when your case is sent to consulate and she has to fill out DS-160 before the interview she will put her new address.

Okay, sorry for being dense here.

If you look at Step 8 of the VisaJourney Flowchart, it seems to imply that forms and checklist will be sent directly to my beneficiary from the Consulate.

I am currently stuck in Step 5.

I do not think they can send anything if the address on the I-129F isn't up to date.

I believe I need to update NVC with each new address change for both me and my beneficiary.

After petition approval and prior to visa delivery, all standard communications from the consulate will be via email, to the beneficiary or the petitioner or both.  Nothing will be sent via post to the beneficiary's physical address, except for the passport with visa.  So no need to update the I-129F.  Just provide the new address on the DS-160 form when the CEAC case status turns to "Ready".

Well, firstly, the VJ flowchart is not law or an official procedure. Secondly, what was meant there was email. It’s 2021, they send it digitally. No consulates actually physically mails forms, that was probably true 15 years ago or something. And they usually email it to the petitioner who then forwards the email to the beneficiary. In my case they emailed me because I have emailed them beforehand to ask a few questions.

You can go ahead and try to update but you will be wasting your time. Also once you have your NOA2, the petitioner does not have to inform about their address change.Take it from someone who went through the whole process.

Well thank you both for your assurance. I was convinced that you were right.

Not much new news here. NOA2 was received ages ago. I have also received two updates from NVC. They send them every three months.

NVC just keeps telling us to wait, and that they are going to send our approved I-129F to the Consulate in Manila once they resume routine visa processing, which is still on pause due to Covid-19. I believe the Consulate are taking some time to clear their backlog of applications.

I just sent them another bump today. I'll let you all know if I learn anything new.

I am eternally grateful for your help!

Do you already know your case number (it should start with "MNL")?  If not, you should call NVC to ask for it.

If you already have your MNL number, just check your CEAC case status occasionally.  When it changes to "Ready", you may submit the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and schedule the interview.

Yes thanks friend, I've been doing that. It's just been stuck at "at NVC" for the longest time. I'll update you all here when it changes.

I suspect it won't change until the Manila consulate resumes processing visas.

Manila resumed processing of non-expedited K1 visa cases back in mid-2021, though at a much slower pace than pre-COVID levels.  There's likely just a long line of cases ahead of yours, waiting for interview slots at USEM.

Update:

My status is still stuck on “At NVC” but there’s been some action.

On December 20, I used the inquiry form to write to NVC and complain that we still haven’t received an invoice ID. Finally they responded to my email with the Invoice ID and Beneficiary ID.

This was weird, because our CEAC status is still not READY, on account of covid delays. It seems we’re in an unprecedented situation, so things might be happening a bit differently from what I expected.

I plugged Case Number, Invoice ID, and Beneficiary ID into ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

It provided me with a link to the DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Application and a brief message informing me that it must be filled out before our application can proceed.

My fiance and I are starting to fill out the DS-160 now. I think we’re on track, and I’m excited, but I just have one reservation. I’m still a bit worried about that CEAC status not being READY.

I wonder what happens if we submit the DS-160 before then?

I guess we’ll just fill out the DS-160 and hope that by the time we’re done, our status will flip. We will update the form with her new address.

I’ll keep you all updated with any changes.
