Just for your information, any time a new drug is developed, before this drug is given to humans it has to be given to at least two animal species (one rodent and one non-rodent, usually rats and dogs) .

 

I am not saying that described experiments are completely ethical (probably there are other ways to infect dogs, for example). But I doubt that Dr. Fauci personally ordered to torture puppies.

Just for your information, most drugs, prior to FDA approval, undergo between five to 10 years of trials (animal included) before being approved.  Not so much these covid experimental drugs.

I guess I got mixed up on my threads (though I DO believe that we rushed into covid "vaccines" way, WAY too fast).

Oh yeah, they absolutely have to be very detailed, especially the animal experiments part. Although the ethical part is usually reviewed by the review board of the institution where the experiment is conducted. I suspect ethical standards of conducting research might be lower in Tunisia.

So the venerable Dr. Fauci signs off on millions of dollars from US taxpayers and he does not even review the grant proposal?  Seems like our bureaucracy has become mush too bloated and expensive.

Whether Fauci knew about it or not (I'm sure he was fully aware) he is in charge and the buck stops with him. He should be held fully responsible for this.

In FY 2021 NIAID is funding 7299 projects. It is not humanly possible to review in details every single one of them.

It is possible however to have your staff review all of them. It is also possible to hold your staff accountable. Seems like one of those things and possibly both of those things weren't done which demonstrates poor leadership at best.

Still, the top person is the one that signs off.  If there is something fishy, they along with their staff that essentially approved the grants should be held accountable.  I know, we are talking about the DC bureaucracy, the buck does not stop at anyone, it just gets used to wipe a rear body part.

Brings back memories.

 

When I was in dental school, as part of our physiology class there was a lab and one of the things we did were "teaching experiments" on dogs from the pound.  Inject various meds and cut certain nerves and I forget what else.  When done we "disposed" of them.  We were supposed to do this type of lab a few times that semester, but after the first session my class objected so strongly that it was not done again (that I am aware of).
